pivnizub (4003), Porúří, Germany Aug 16, 2008 Bottle (thanx to joss !): Big fluffy, but stable white head, cloudy, pale golden; yeasty, sweetish-fruity nose with traces of tobacco (?); creamy MF, sweetish-bitter flavour; medical traces in the sweetish-bitter finish. O.K., but nothing more.......... MiP (6221), Flensburg, Germany May 2, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Plasticky aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Small but stable white head. I thought this was a wheat beer when I tasted it. Very banana-like flavour. Some yeast notes. Slightly watery. JorisPPattyn (4625), Antwerpen, Belgium Mar 9, 2007 Draught Fully hazy, greenish tinted beer with a just off-white head. Greenmalt, half-fermented worts, and they forgot to add the hops. Sweet, slightly grainy, milk ripe grain, and a bit grassy. Worts slickness. Not fermented out. Very poor beer. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 25, 2006 Beautiful, unfiltered, hazy and dull yellow in color with a persistently creamy white head. Fresh bakery aromatic inferences ravel with cloves, lemon pepper, plantains and lemon buttered sweet rolls. This one re-wrote my opinion on how good a helles can be. Flavor reveals a new definition of the complexities that the right yeast strain can add to a beer. Sweet sourdough meets a lemon crème tract that’s simply amazing. That clover/plantains feel is there, coursing delicately and supportively as ever. Curt, substantive lemon rind scrapings give a tiny citric lightening while sweetening the deal. Light-bodied with perfect, modestly adequate carbonation. Sweet honey and lemon croissants abound in the finish with some clover floral traits and pepper. Outstanding, pure baker’s delight. joss (3225), Garching b. München, Germany Mar 28, 2004 Neutral nose.
Cloudy yellow, whipped cream head.
Restrained sweet malt, yeasty goodness, hint of bitterhops, no overwhelming taste experience though.
Good body, creamy mouthfeel.
