I’m not a big fan of the whole "Session IPA" name, the concept is nice however it’s truly not an ipa and surely there never was a "session" ipa during the overseas trips to India. Last year we would have just called it a hoppy pale ale. Enough of my rant. This beer pours a wonderful light golden, straw in paleness with a fairly decent microfoam white head. Aroma is upfront with Pilsner malt, cracker like and biscuity a little bready, the Calypso hops really shine through with it’s fresh apple orchard-like aromas and the Cascades give it that orangey balance. This is a decently hopped beer, not overwhelming however not so much that it would be considered to be a sessionable ipa. Clean finish.

Session beer done right YAY! The aroma is full of great hop character with dominant citrus and some grassy floral notes. The taste is muted and slightly malty with a great hop flavor. Well done.

Fantastic session IPA. Easy to drink. Not heavy on the tongue. Not a lot of lingering bitterness, but enough to balance out the subtle bread/cake sweetness. Lots of aromatic citrus -- juicy orange, grapefruit rind, and a nip of lemon. Bit of woody pine, too. Very enjoyable to drink. And a testament to how tasty a 4% beer can actually be.

Pint at Sweet Lou’s. Would be tough to call this one an IPA (session or otherwise) in the hophead ruled Pacific NW. Not knowing what this beer was before trying it, I would have almost mistaken it for a lager. A little chewy, gummy, and dry. Not me favorite from the Fremont Fire Pits.

From tap at Hales. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is crisp fruity, mild peachy and citrusy. Light toasted malty and simple bitter. Mild fruity and light toasted malty finish.

Clear golden amber. Great IPA nose showing pine hop aromatics. Light to medium bodied with a seriously refreshing mouthfeel. Great session beer. Hoppy finish.

Golden in color, clear with a thin head. Nice floral and fruity hops aroma. This was malty and hoppy in flavor and light in the finish. Very light alcohol in this brew it was a terrific light session IPA. Different and very good.

Mostly clear gold, frothy white head. Aroma of grassy hops and caramel, also some light fruit. Taste is mildly bitter with a nice balance of hop and malt. Finish is pretty long and bitter for such a low alc beer. Very well made, easy drinking. Medium body, nice carbonation.

If you had told me 20 minutes ago that I’d find a beer at 4% ABV that I really liked, I’d have scoffed at you. This would have proven me wrong. Pours a light-ish transparent orange, with a quickly fading off-white head. Aroma is not the strong point. Mild caramel and faint hops - like a watered-down pale ale. The flavor is just great, though. Fresh-tasting hops move from lemon into grapefruit, and the slightly fruity malts patiently wait for a few seconds before making an appearance, allowing the hops to shine. When the malts fade, the bitterest of the hops linger. This is a really delicate IPA, if there is such a thing, and at such a sessionable ABV, I could see myself quenching many a hot day’s thirst with this one. Nice work, FBC.

22. Pours a crystal clear burnished medium amber with very little head or lace. Big buttery nose with enough resinous hop to it to make it smell almost burnt in combination with the butter. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Toasty buttery mid palate with a somewhat shampoo-y finish. Not the best thing from these guys.
