Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Chocolate, coffee, nutty, earthy. A nice malty beer for a cold winter night.

Nitro at The Pine Box, Seattle. Deep brown, foamy tight head. Porter sweetness, some coffee. Roasty, smooth body. Sweet esters, coffee, milk chocolate. Medium body. Hops are a little too subtle in this nitro version. Nice beer.

Bottle. Pours dark brown medium head. Snell and tasted like a stout chocolate and ashy roasted malt

A lovely and splendid ale. Reminds me of a strong dark Belgian without the super high ABV. Very balanced throughout: hoppy but not bitter, maltiness present but not overbearing, and the spices superb. Highly recommended! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown color with w medium tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of chocolate, roasted malt and caramel. Tastes of all the same things I mentioned in the nose with a pretty good hop presence. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with a dry finish. Overall this is a top notch winter warmer thatís affordable.

On draft in sandpoint, Idaho. Dark brown pour with creamy tan head. Moderate retention. Aroma is chocolate, roasted grains, toffee. Taste: toasty. Moderate bitterness (coffee grounds), light to moderate sweetness. Palate: moderate carbonation, medium body. Lightly bitter lingering finish. Overall: it's wild how different this is from the b-bomb. Coffee finish is pronounced. Definitely tasty, but mostly it makes me want to pick up another bottle of the b-bomb before they're gone for the season. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from trade with michaelinwa. Pours a very dark brown color with a small like that lingers a bit. Aromas are cocoa, chocolate, light roast, and grass. Taste is great. Chocolaty, roasty, and slightly hoppy with some spicy and grassy hops. Almost like a Black IPA or a hoppy black lager. Finish is smooth and crisp. Mouthfeel is a bit thin but makes it easy to drink. Really good beer. Thanks Mike!

Bottle. Bloack like a stout with tan frothy head and good lace. The aroma is toasted grain and nuts. The flavor is well balanced with notes of chocolate, coffee, nuts, herbs, and lactic acid. It finishes spicy and piney. It is very fresh, medium bodied with a lively but quick carbonation and an astringent finish. This is a very nice and drinkable beer. It seems a stout at first but has a complexity that unfolds.

Bottle:   For an English Strong Ale, its very Stout looking.   Black, moderate to large frothy light beige head, nice lacing.   Soft roasted malts, a little bit of biscuit and burnt caramel malts.   A little spicy on the tongue, very soft roasted malts, smidgen of alcohol.   Its like a pale Stout, with a Pale English Strong Ale, mated with some muted or dulled all-spice like flavors.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean finish, soft roasted malts and a bit of spicy biscuity malt background.   Somewhat of an odd duck, but all the flavors blend well.   I enjoyed it more than I thought I would as it wasnít overly sticky or heavy.
