Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate. roasted malt, carmel, light vanilla, light earthiness and a hint of spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of dark chocolate, roasted malt, light carmel, light coffee and a hint of spice with a smooth dry lingering chocolate finish.

Could easily pass as a sweet/milk stout. Deep black with a lasting tan head. Milkshake-like texture is smooth, creamy and heavy, with only a mild carbonation. Lots of residual sweetness makes it more of a dessert beer than a winter warmer, but itís a rich and tasty sweetness. Big notes of milk chocolate and sweetened espresso with cream. Soft carafa malts come through nicely. Earthy, herbal and spicy hops are very mellow; 47 IBUs struggle under the weight of all the malts. Overall, itís a tasty beer; itís just a little too sweet for me.

Rich, hoppy, American brown ale aroma. Good label. Fairly sweet, woody, cocoa, nicely bitter, a little chalky. Satisfying mmouthfeel and finish. Very dark brown, tan head. Finish goes a bit grassy. Thanks to Triock for hauling this back from the west coast.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2012 22oz bomber from Elise. Opaque brown-black. Thin beige head. Mellow mouthfeel, subdued carbonation. Chocolate and caramel tones dominate, with a nice well rounded hop bill offering balance and depth. Chewy dark Brown Ale. A mellow beast, this is quite malt forward for a West Coaster. Some piny gingerbread, toffee. Subtle and unique. Some syrupy black malt tones, some brown sugar. A lot going on, but the tastes really merge together.

Dark brown with a thin head. The aroma is mostly woody cascadey hops. Straightforward and earthy/toasty in character.

Draft @ Collins Pub, I think. Black and stout looking. Tan scattered lace. Chocolate malts and minty hops blend in the aromas. Silky palate. And flavors also no nonsense chocolate malt and unpretentious.

On tap@ Fremont. Dark brown color with tan foam. Spicy caramel, floral, mild chocolate aromas. Medium body. Nice semi-sweet chocolate flavors with spicy caramel, floral hoppage--good.

Tap at pike. Pours brown with a light tan head. Notes of pine and dark roasted malts in the flavor and aroma. Notes of spice. Was more like a winter warmer + stout. Clean medium bodied palate.

Bomber. Appearance is a solid dark brown color along with a half-inch of tan head. The aroma is along the lines of a Porter or Stout with lots of roasted malt, dark chocolate and molasses. The taste is relatively similar with a strong emphasis on the dark roast malt and chocolate mocha flavors in addition to some toffee, fig and raisin notes. Also a mild citrus and herbal hops presence in the background. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy while the finish is dry, bitter and smoky. Overall, an interesting blend of different styles (Porter, Stout, Winter Warmer) with a good balance between the dark roasty malt and hops flavors.

Bomber from the brewery. Pours a deep, cola brown, with a smallish tan head. Over-toasted marshmallows, dry roasted malts, some super-mild coffee, and chocolate-covered pine cones in the background. Definitely plenty of hops in here, but at first it tastes like the flavor is balanced more with dry roastiness than with hops, which wait to come through until the aftertaste. Tastes more like a stout than it looks. I wish more sweetness came through, and that it was a tad weightier.
