4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle: black with a reddish hue and virtually no head. Roasted, hoppy aroma with notes of caramel, roasted malts and flowery hops. Flavor is sweet with a long and heavy bitter finish and notes of licorice. And a herbal touch. A little alchol burns through. Soft carbonation, full body.

Bottle. Poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a darker brown with a beige head of foam. Aroma has a a nice coffee cake, dry, ashy thing going on. Tastes toasty and herbal. Thicker mouthfeel. Overall its really good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Deep brown and auburn color with a small creamy beige head. Nose is sweet of caramel malts and light florals. Flavor is sweet and robust with caramel, toffee, faded citrus hops, and chocolate. I let this sit in the cellar longer than I wanted to, but in it’s (presumably) more mellow state the flavor still comes through strong and well balanced.

12oz can poured into glass. Dark brown color with a thin bubbly head. Nice aroma of caramel, chocolate and roasted malts. Easy to drink despite the 8%ABV, it’s masked very well.

Pours black with a creamy looking brown head. Aroma of some hops, more malt, light roast. Taste has a great balance of hop and toffee malt, light bitterness, some hop, but more roast. Smooth texture, soft carbonation. Great beer, awesome price. I’m really liking everything this brewery does.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Excellent brew!! Bottle was room temp when I poured it with a thick, foamy, tan head that lasts a while and plenty of lace. Color is a clear, dark mahoganey with lots of tiny bubble trails. Aroma is malt, roast, fruit, hop. Flavor’s like nose, plus brandy and is bitter up front with slight sweetness way in back and good carbonic tang to balance. Full body with a few high points and great carbonation. Finish is a tad long and boozy. Very drinkable.
