22 oz bottle pours dark brown, almost black with a little tan head that sticks around a while. Aroma is sweet, dark roasted malts. Taste is very stout-like with roasted malt and coffee flavors. A little burnt toast and oak. Kinda dry and very bold with moderate bitterness. I really like this beer! One of my new favorite winter ales.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Hard to believe I haven’t rated this yet. Pours inky brown with medium thin off white head. Aroma is sweet chocolate malt with a hint of floral hops. Taste is big rich chocolate malt balanced with spicy earthy hops. ABV is substantial, but doesn’t dominate. Much darker than most winter beers, more akin to a hoppy robust porter. Takes to barrel aging very well. Quite a bargain for the price too, as opposed to BBomb. One of my favorite winter beers, can’t get enough of this.

22 oz bottle, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours a very dark ruby red with a thin light tan head that reduces immediately to a collar. Aroma is caramel malt, some cinnamon, chocolate, somewhat subdued. The taste is velvety smooth, creamy, chocolate, caramel, toffee, nutty. Body is medium and mouthfeel is creamy and lasts long after the swallow. This brewery continues to impress me, great craft brewery that is quickly making a name for itself.

22oz. Bomber. Trade. No date. Tulip glass. 60-65 degrees. Subtle aromas of dark dried fruit, chocolate, coffee, roasted marshmallow, roasted nuts and spice. Flavors of roasted malt, roasted coffee, roasted NUTS and spice. Medium weight, lower creamy carbonation, medium-long finish.. Lingering flavors are best.. Roasted malt, roasted nuts, bitter coffee and bitter chocolate last for about 60+ secs! Nice! Overall, subdued aromatics, with nice roasty, toasty malt flavors, with strong bitterness and a balanced mouthfeel and good lingering flavors.. I'm definitely enjoying this more and more with each sip... Not a brash in your face beer, though more one of grace, balance and lasting impression. I can imagine this would be awesome aged in bourbon barrels. Glad I got to try this.. Needs time in the glass to open..

Bottle as a Christmas gift from a friend. Thanks! Pours nearly pitch black with a massing khaki brown head that sticks around a good while. Aroma of straight up malt extract--in a completely good way--some light hops, molasses, more sweet malts. Whoah. Flavor is sweet up front with big malt body to the Nth degree, some lightly earthy hops that balance things tremendously, finishing with some light roast and smoke, and long molasses notes. Big body, medium low carbonation. Right on. This is one of the better non-BAs in this style that I’ve had. Really delicious and relaxing. Have to try the bourbon version now.
