Could easily pass as a sweet/milk stout. Deep black with a lasting tan head. Milkshake-like texture is smooth, creamy and heavy, with only a mild carbonation. Lots of residual sweetness makes it more of a dessert beer than a winter warmer, but it’s a rich and tasty sweetness. Big notes of milk chocolate and sweetened espresso with cream. Soft carafa malts come through nicely. Earthy, herbal and spicy hops are very mellow; 47 IBUs struggle under the weight of all the malts. Overall, it’s a tasty beer; it’s just a little too sweet for me.

Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy to fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, light hoppy, orange. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120320]

(22oz bottle) Pours a mahogany body with a small beige head. Aroma of raisins, roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor of chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, raisins, grass, and brown sugar.

Bottle @ yespr. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel aroma. Sweetish malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty chocolate and caramel finish.

dark brown, light brown head. aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar. faint herbal biter hoppiness. flavor is roasted malts, coffee, bitter caramel.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a red shine under a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of hops, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle: black with a reddish hue and virtually no head. Roasted, hoppy aroma with notes of caramel, roasted malts and flowery hops. Flavor is sweet with a long and heavy bitter finish and notes of licorice. And a herbal touch. A little alchol burns through. Soft carbonation, full body.

Bottle at yespr. Pours brown with a medium light tan head. The aroma is very malty and has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, toasted caramel and tobacco. The flavour is hard roasted, chocolate, toasted caramel and dark fruit. Very nice!

22 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden amber with a small tan head. Aroma is mild fruity and caramelish malty. Smooth roasted malty, liqourice and dark breadish malty. Dense malty, bitter and dark malty finish.
