COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lovingly referred to by Fremonters as the B-BOMB, this bourbon barrel-aged edition of our winter ale has a warming spicy aroma and rich carmelly notes of bourbon, wood and vanilla added to dark roasty chocolatey malt flavors and subtle hopping.

Bottle... Poured dark brownish with a thin, light beige head. Nose of oak and whiskey with vanilla and malt. Insane amount of vanilla here. Just delicious. Big booze-like tones, whiskey, dark sticky caramel. Vanilla all over, dark fruits and some esters. Dense cake batter, malt and smooth finish. Didn’t pick up hops but this didn’t need any of that.

Pours black, with fairly low head that disappears quickly. Carbonation is soft. Aroma is berries, wine, alcohol, soy, sweet malt. It’s complex but somewhat mellow, with bourbon, wine, chocolate, and licorice, but it’s not a huge flavor. A little boozey, but it works for me. I like this a lot. It’s different, interesting, tasty, and very easy to drink. Very pricey, but worth a couple bottles every year because it’s so different.

22 oz. bottle shared by foppa78- thanks again, Mat! 2010 vintage. Pours a hazy brownish plum-amber color with a small off-white head. Big barrel notes in this one. Bourbon, oak, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, mild spice, coconut, toasted sugar- sweet and malty. Medium-bodied, smooth, with low carbonation. Tasty.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2012 Holy B Bomb, Batman! I don’t know when I was last this incredibly surprised by an ale. Deep ruby brown pour with black highlights. Head is two fingers of tan, dense foam that subsides to form a lasting ring. Lacing is minimal, but decent. The nose (and flavor) are bourbon, bourbon, and more bourbon with underpinnings of dark chocolate, toffee, caramel brown and red fruits almost too numerous to list (date, fig, kumquat, plum, breadfruit, starfruit, mandarin orange/tangerine, pineapple, just to name a few). There is also plenty of old leather, tobacco, coconut, pecan praline, honey, sherry, brandy a hint of smoke, cinnamon, cardamom, and coriander, and even a touch of something like lavender. This beer reminds me of a cross between Firestone Walker’s Fifteen and Parabola, except it’s richer, and more intense in flavor than either of those, despite being three percent lower in alcohol! This beer may not be as subtle as some, but it’s one of the most complex, dynamic brews of any style that I’ve tasted. This is definitely the ultimate sipping beer, and would pair marvelously with the stoutest cigar. Major Kudos to Fremont Brewing for creating that rarest of beers worthy of being called an instant classic.

22oz bottle. Deep red pour with some eggshell colored head. Nose is decadent - chocolate, oak, vanilla, and bourbon. Flavor is just as good - chocolate and roast, vanilla, brown sugar sweetness, bourbon. Great beer.

Deep, dark brown almost stout/porter appearance. Bourbon and maple nose. Full bodied and extremely rich. The bourbon, roasted nuts and vanilla take turns washing over the palate. Nothing subtle here, but delicious!

Bottle @ yespr. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty bourbon barrel chocolate aroma with hints of vanilla. Sweetish malty bourbon and vanilla flavor with chocolate and toffee hints. Has a sweetish malty bourbon and vanilla finish.
