Can poured into pint glass. Aroma is rich toasty malt with hints of caramel, coffee and chocolate. Pours dark-dark brown. Tan lasting head with moderate lacing. Smooth and creamy taste again with the caramel, chocolate and coffee. The high alcohol content is balanced very well. Overall a very pleasing stout.

Tap. Pours a pitch black body with a foamy tight-bubbled brown head, tons of lacing. The nose is rich and roasty with some coffee and oatmeal sweetness, smells like dessert. Rich roasty flavor with a great oatmeal character, lots of coffee, and dark chocolate. Light malt bitterness and some burnt notes on the back end. Mouthfeel is full bodied and soft with a nice rounded feel to it. Light fizzy carbonation. Really nice oatmeal stout, no real trace of alcohol for being ’imperial’. Delicious.

12 oz can from a 6 pack , purchased from Roth’s Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem OR $6.99..yes for a six! Gorgeous looking pint here..black..with a precise creamy tan head..yes precise because it stays the same as i drink. Dark chocolate , coffee and toasted oat aroma..nice. Taste similar but with more creaminess..and malty burnt bitterness in the end. Good creamy smooth low carbonated mouth feel. Excellent drinkable..if that is the right word, stout.

Poured from a can into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a dark, thick black color and pour with no lighter hues and a large foamy-creamy dark tan head with good retention, and very good cling and lacing. Its aroma featured a pleasant blend of roasty oatmeal, coffee, and chocolate, along with a noticeable alcohol scent, and some cereal, grain, and barley undertones. It was mostly sweet and creamy with notes of chocolate and lighter coffee malt and oatmeal, with lightly bitter touches of bread and cereal. The beer was rather creamy and filling, with a thicker mouthfeel, that had low to average carbonation and a drying finish with a slight alcohol presence.

Black with a tall beige head. Sweetened coffee, chocolate, a bit of campfire, and dark roasted malt. Medium bodied. Finish is bittersweet and coffee. A very nice imperial stout that is on the roasted and coffee side of things.

First rating of 2016, I decided to rate a beer that is right in front of me weekly, though I’m half certain this is the first time I’ve ever had one. How is this possible. Kinda fun though to try all the different versions, then go back to the base to see where they all began. 12 oz can poured. Beer cans are a big deal. Pours black with a nice cinematic brown head. Nice roasted aroma with a subtle sweetness to it. Big robust, roasted malt flavor with the same subtle sweetness in the background. Fun, tasty beer, and full of flavor. Very solid.

From a bottle into a glass. The pour is a dark red with a brown head. A lot of dark chocolate and oatmeal notes, medium body, and its delicious.

Both standard draft and nitro pour at the brewery. Predictably black pour, smallish dense cream-colored head. Nose and flavor are marked by bitter espresso, milk chocolate, light grainy sweetness, and rich cream. Smooth on the palate, medium bodied, drinkable for the ABV%. Nice stuff.
