Black body with tan head. Burnt malt, tobacco, dry chocolate aromas. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice milk chocolate, honey sweet flavors with dry chocolate, mild tobacco astringence to balance--very good
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 trevor211 (990) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 1, 2012
Pours black, with a medium tan head. Warm molasses, chocolate, and a little tobacco on the nose. Sweet flavor, with alcohol doing more to balance the chocolate and dark malts than the hop bill does. Well balanced, though, and very tasty.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 after4ever (4500) - Brier, Washington, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Draft at the urban beer garden. Pours jet black with a dark creamy tan mousse on top. Loose drippy lace. Dark roasty chocolate and coffee nose. Creamy thick body with modest carb. Roasty coffee and.chocolate mid palate with a strong roasty finish. Wonderful impy.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 crackedmachine (302) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Growler. Pours black with a thick, tan head. Aroma is very heavy on the roasted malt, with undertones of chocolate. Likewise, flavor is full of roasted malt, with some chocolate and plenty of sweetness. The body is a bit heavy, but very smooth, and shows almost no sign of being a high ABV imperial. A very nice oatmeal stout, but take care because the alcohol is well-hidden.

Draught@Fremont Brewing Beer Garden, Seattle
Opaque black color, small beige-brown head. Lots of coffee, some dark candy in the aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Coffee, salt licorice, roasted maltyness. As always, oat makes stouts smooth. This is very pleasant oatmeal stout.

Sampled on tap at SIB, pours black with a tan head. Aroma of oatmeal, oak, vanilla and chocolate. Flavour of oak, vanilla, sweet chocolate and oatmeal. Robust bodied with all the flavours meshing well. Really good.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 14, 2011
Draft, Exbeerience. Black pour, tan head. Very roasty, chocolatey, toasty, slightly boozey aroma. Definitely qualifies as a beer you can chew. Roasty flavor with a noticable grainy oatmeal presence and rich body, char, chocolate, light booze on the finish but not overly hot. One of the better oatmeal stouts I’ve had.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 leeburg (203) - Juneau, Alaska, USA - FEB 17, 2011
On tap atthe brewery. Dark brown, tan head, roasty aromas with chocolate and coffee, very smooth and deceivingly alcoholic. Easy drinking for an Imp. Stout.
