Homefront IPA is an India Pale Ale summer IPA brewed with sweet orange peel and aged on the zest of fresh oranges in addition to maple bats donated by Louisville Slugger.Yes, we think it is a wonderful summer IPA and yes, the orange really does come through. And, yes, we are a little biased so why not try one for yourself and lift a glass to those who fight for us. And thanks.

12 oz can, thanks brenn79. Canned 5/16/15, about a month and a half ago. Aroma is citrusy, piney, dank. Pours hazy copper with a large off-white head with good retention. Taste is medium level bitter backed by a candy sweetness. I feel thereís a vegetal-ness thatís trying to creep in here and fuck everything up, but I wonít allow it. In another week I feel the invader will have taken over and eaten the beerís soul, so better now than never. Good, would have been better fresher.

I remember when this was first brewed by Mariners pitcher Chris Ray remember tracking down the first batch of this beer, and have loved getting it ever since. This is a solid IPA nothing special though, other then the purpose. Summer hops, citrus, crisp flavor, really enjoyable beer.

12 oz can- Pours dark orange with a large white head that reduces fairly quickly and large white particles floating around, the rest of the sixer i will be more careful not to disturb or tip the can before pouring and leave a half ounce or so in the can. The aroma is strong orange zest, dank piney hops, some light caramel malt, spicy peppercorns. The taste is very hop forward, the malt is a bit heavy for me, sticky, resinous, the oranges come through mostly in the finish, the slugger bats were a cool concept that imparts a dry cedar like finish (i know they are made out of maple). I just wish it was lighter, this would have been a home run.

On tap @ Fremont. Pours clear dark orange with thin white head. Aroma is heavy orange fruit and zest, with floral aromatic hops on the back. Taste is clean, sweet, slightly nutty caramel malt, solid orange - though not nearly as much as on the nose, and crisp light hops on the finish. Maybe a faint woody note from the maple bats, but not much. Lacks the hop punch of Interurban, but orange notes make this a light, refreshing IPA.

On tap @ Century Link Stadium, Seahawks vs Panthers divisional playoff game. Iím uncertain whether this is the correct IPA from Fremont, but Iíll place my rating here. This wasnít quite as deeply copper toned as the Schooner. It had a brighter, fruitier hop profile too. So great to have quality beers in a stadium setting!

Can purchased recently but -- now that I see thatís a summer IPA -- not particularly fresh.

Orange-brown pour, coarse foamy amber head. Surprisingly perfumy aroma. Orange peel, unusual-for-the-style nuttiness, aged hops. Unfortunately, the aged hops are well apparent in the flavor. A little bit of sweetness, that nuttiness again, orange zest in addition to the orange from the hops. Aged on Louisville Slugger bats...well I never! Pretty drinkable; nice beer. Iíd like to try one fresh and have bumped the score here slightly to estimate what that would be like.

Can. Eye catching can for sure. Pours dark gold with a really bitter aroma. A little off putting aroma but this beer tastes delicious so itís okay. Really nice orange flavor. Decently hoppy. I canít say I can tell this is aged on baseball bats, but I love baseball, and since I know itís there, itís cool. Overall, this is a great summer beer, especially when the baseball game is on. Good stuff.

Solid, well balanced IPA. Thereís nothing to dislike here. Nice malt flavor, nice hoppy flavor, and sufficient bitterness. This will not satisfy hop heads, and itís not overly unusual -- orange peel "hint" of flavor notwithstanding -- but it totally is good.

Can. Kick ass awesome patriotic can. 5 for appearance. ;) Orange peel is quite apparent in the aroma. Almost candy citrus aroma. Flavor doesnt depart far from Fremont classic tropical and citrus hops but there is a noticeable vanilla and woody taste. Is it just me or does the thought of drinking baseball bat beer off-putting? Overall another solid IPA from Fremont but with a slight twist to make it unique...and awesomely American. U!S!A! U!S!A!

Clear orange-brown out of the bottle, two fingers of foam with excellent staying power. Fragrant aroma, flowery, small amounts of pine. Flavor has more pine, orange zest bitterness, and prominent malt of the grain/bread variety. Solid effort.
