Tap @ Sharpís - near Seatac: Clear gold color with a small white fizzy head. Wonderful hop aroma of citrus and floral notes. Hoppy flavor but not too over the top bitter. Floral and citrus notes noted in flavor as well with a bitter hop trailer.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2014 Bottle. Strong American hop nose showing the apricot and orange marmalade signature of Cascade and Centennial, but also showing an unpleasant brined lemon / catty pet urine quality that I find most often in Simcoe and Citra. Grassy and raw mixed with lemon peel and green onion sharpness. Malt seemingly transparent in the nose. Sweat / burnt butter aroma suggest diacetyl. Medium body, sweet and juicy and oily in the mouth with relatively low bitterness. Candy-like dried pineapple slices and a dose of garlic butter in the finish. It almost works, but lower the sweetness, find some fresher hops and check for diacetyl.

(Can) Nice IPA. Not too overly-bitter (although people who donít like IPAs wonít think so). Nice slight malt sweetness and good perfumy hops.

Tap at Northlake Tavern. Golden with white head. Going by memory, but thought it was well balanced, a little more malty than most IPAís mild bitter ness. Easy drinking

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice! The aroma is citrusy and piney with no onions or overly grassy notes. Taste is sweet malt with a delicious hoppy goodness thatís citrus and somewhat resiny. Finish is a malt smoothness with a zap of bitter--a go to IPA.

22 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange gold with a medium frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet bready malts with soft fruit and grassy, fruity, piney hops.
The flavor is sweet bready malts with light fruit and grassy resiny hops with good bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a nice sweet fruity IPA with good bitterness.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Head is initially large, frothy, rocky, white, mostly lasting.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately hoppy (apricot, grapefruit, resin), lightly yeasty (dough), with a note of souring vegetable matter (celery, yellow squash), hint of diacetyl.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Gosh darn it. At first pour and for a couple minutes thereafter, I was thinking this was high 3s for sure. But therein lies the problem with rating from small samples or doing quick reviews for any reason. Problems rarely reveal themselves right away. And here we have an initial strong hop aroma that seems nice enough on the surface (I donít like the resinous hop character, but the apricot-grapefruit notes make it tolerable). As that settles down (after the massive, beautiful head finally recedes somewhat), out comes this sour vegetable juice odor. I wouldnít say DMS, this is more raw and maybe just from poor malt extraction, but either way vegetal odors do not bode well in any kind of beer (the mild butter and vitamin B notes donít help either). It never quite overpowers the hops, thankfully, but once it shows up to the party it just wonít leave, and I no longer enjoy sniffing it. Great flavor balance, appearance, and mouthfeel, though...non-abrasive bitterness with no astringency, which most American IPAs cannot boast. It couldíve been a high-scoring beer if sampled briefly at a beer tasting with 50 other people sharing the bottle.

Yum! Citrus/pine aromatics, bracing bitterness, hints of smooth sweet malt. This is what Sierra Nevada tasted like to me before I fried too many taste buds with DIPAs. Love it. Probably follow it with a DIPA. Iím so predictable.
