2014 bottle. Pours black with a small brown head that disappears quickly. Nose is vanilla, bourbon, wood, coffee. Flavor follows; gets better as the beer warms. Creamy full mouthfeel and very well balanced. Awesome beer.

Bottle, shared by a kind soul, in a location remote of my dining room.
Pours basically black with a small head and very little lacing on the glass.

The aroma is bourbon heavy and oaky but with some nice dark chocolate and even a little bit of port wine character.

The flavor is plenty dark fruit and dark chocolate forward. The beer has some mild tobacco and some bitter cocoa. The bourbon is well controlled and works as one aspect of the whole as opposed to dominating the flavor of the beer.

Very nice stuff.

(22oz bomber) deep espresso brown (near black), wispy tan bubbles. Nose of bourbon, dark chocolate, charred wood, marshmallows, smells great. Taste is heavy on bourbon but it’s integrated really well, burnt marshmallow, dark chocolate, medium alcohol, medium thick body, great linger.

Bottle, 2014 vintage. Pours a jet black and topped with a creamy brown head. Nose is inviting with espresso, dark chocolate, roast, and barrel. Thick and creamy mouthfeel with big roast flavors amongst the bourbon barrel and dark chocolate notes. Really silky and layered flavor. Top tier impy stout. Along with the 25 month old APA they got me for Christmas, this was from my in-laws. Yep, they did me right on this one.

Bottle. Black pour, with a tan head. Chocolate, bourbon, caramel, brown sugar, char, vanilla, alcohol, bitter roast, and somewhat boozy. Nice beer, I like the BBA Abominable better.

Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with thin ring of tan brown head that leaves light lace but slips down the glass. Aroma is boozy, but not quite sweet, bourbon, chocolate, vanilla awesome. Taste is all that, intense and big but smooth and creamy, sweet and balanced at the same time, wow, very nice.

22 oz bottle is 2014 vintage, 11%. Pours a clear dark brown nearing black, with a beautiful cherry red on the teku when backlit. A dark espresso head lingers and fades to a wisp on the edge. Aroma is incredible; roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa, slight tobacco char complexity, cinnamon, bourbon and oak, the list goes on. I don’t remember being this taken with a beer’s aroma before. Flavor is same with an amazing balance of all aforementioned aspects. Amazing. Full bodied, muted yet active carbonation, sweet complex bourbon chocolate finish. Delicious.

A: I could smell it while pouring. Vanilla and chocolate. Amazing. A: 1 1/2 finger brown head. Midnight black body with no red in the glass. T: Vanilla, cherry, and plum dominate. Chocolate and a tiny bit of woodiness are subtle. P: Amazing again. Silky smooth thanks to the oats. Bubbly on the back end. Medium chewiness. Perfect all around. O: Just like B-Bomb, this was everything that I had hoped it would be. The beer lived up to the hype again. The flavors were prominent, with vanilla being the strongest. It wasn’t too strong on bourbon, or too weak. It was just right.
