Our Imperial Oatmeal Stout aged in 15 year old single use Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. The roasted and chocolate malts compliment the smooth oats to bring you a stout delight wrapped in gentle embrace of Bourbon Barrel aged warmth. A touch of sweetness dances in balance with the hops to finish with a wave and then she’s gone.

Down & Dirty: 2-Row, Roast Barley, Crystal-60, Chocolate, & Carafa-2 malts with Flaked Oats and Magnum, Wilamette & Cascade hops. 9.5% ABV

2014 bottle. Almost black with a heavy brown cap that vanishes quick. Aroma of vanilla, smooth bourbon, wood, coffee, raisin. Taste is sweet, and warming bitterness. Creamy, dry finish.

Dark brown with a good light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, bourbon, dark fruit, caramel. Full bodied, slightly velvetty mouthfeel, smooth on the palate with a little booze on the finish. Taste is chocolate, bourbon, wood, dark fruits.

Bottle via trade. Nose is boozy and woody and vanilla with a lot of cocoa and chocokate. Very inviting. Pour is pitch black with a very large brown head. A light oat aroma. Holy freaking balls is this god. Super smooth and a ton of chocolate and rich luscious velvet cake and brownies. This just keeps getting better with every sip. Could use a touch more roast but this is darn good.

Taster at brewery. Headless black beer. All bourbon aroma. The beer seems thin under the bourbon. Flavor supports that belief. Thin undercarbonated beer flavor with nothing but bourbon. Thicker feel on the tongue. Nothing original on this and not fun.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle, vintage 2014. Aroma has a nice, sweet oatmeal character with quite a bit of chocolate. Light roast not with moderate bourbon and oak character. Some light dark fruit character. Pours black with a moderately large, fairly thick, mocha head that slowly but steadily recedes upon itself while lingering on the edges. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a moderate sweetness that gives way to a large chocolate and oatmeal character. Some medium light roast and faint ash. Moderate bitterness with moderate bourbon and light oak. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied to full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Nice creamy and silky character. Overall, another really nice beer from Fremont but I think I prefer their B-Bomb. Nice oatmeal and chocolate notes with well balanced bourbon character. I feel like its missing something though.

An absolutely wonderful example of a barrel aged oatmeal stout. Luscious, creamy body. Deep, dark chocolate, cherries, huge (but not too huge) bourbon, caramel, nougat, coconut and raisins, with a lengthy finish that is on the sweet side, but tempered with enough dryness to compel another sip...and another...and another...

Bottle (22oz 2014 $19): pours dark brown with nice one finger light brown head. Aroma mainly bourbon. Taste is bourbon and lots of chocolate but not overly sweet. There are other flavors too, but chocolate dominates. Some tasted malts too. Very nice evening desert beer.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown with a small tan head and good lacing. Big coconut, caramel, brown sugar, light spice, cinnamon, oak, and chocolate in the aroma. Taste is rich chocolate, coconut, bourbon, caramel, some brown sugar, toffee, and raisins with a light roasted bitter finish. Slick mouhfeel with soft carbonation. Good.

Bottle @ Stephen’s whale slaying via BA trade. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Cinnamon, dark chocolate, cararmel, oatmeal, bourbon nose that’s nice. Not super thick. A bit boozy. Really nice chocolate oatmeal cookie flavor. Delicious though it’s not that thick. Great beer.
