Our Imperial Oatmeal Stout aged in 15 year old single use Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. The roasted and chocolate malts compliment the smooth oats to bring you a stout delight wrapped in gentle embrace of Bourbon Barrel aged warmth. A touch of sweetness dances in balance with the hops to finish with a wave and then she’s gone.

Sampled @ RBBSG III. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown head. Aroma is malts, quite some bourbon, vanilla, dark malts. Taste malts, dark malts, slightly roasty, clearly bourbon, some vanilla. Oh this is lovely. Oily texture, medium body, medium carbonation. Very nice!

Generously shared by one of the fine Portland RB folks at a tasting - Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has oats, deep roast, chocolate, alcohol and soy. It has a medium / full body with light carbonation. The flavor starts off with heavy roast, chocolate and coffee. The finish is really roasty and shows a bit of the bourbon barrel. Quite good.

boom laser show. Big rich chocolately body that overwhelms the strong fudge brownie batter flavors of the bourbon barrel aging. Awesome beer, balanced alcohol levels

What an amazing Imp stout. Pours pitch black with khaki head that lingers a bit. Aroma is bourbon up front with vanilla, cocoa, brown sugar, light roast, and a bit of booze. Taste is really rich and moderately sweet with lots of oaky bourbon and rich milk chocolate and molasses. Some moderate dark fruit at the end. Overall great beer.

2013 - wow this stuff is awesome. Never had an oatmeal stout with this much body. Lots of chocolate, fudge, vanilla, and somewhat even keel on the barrel. Extremely smooth and well balanced. Very well crafted.

Finally I got to try this. Thanks to 50belair for sharing at Pegs. Pours a nice dark brown color with a medium brown head. Nice bourbon and vanilla notes, some fudge, roasted malt, well crafted and well barreled. Nice stuff!

Bottle shared at Peg’s. Dark brown pour. Dark roasted malts, chocolate, and caramel notes. Mellow bourbon, oak, and vanilla low lights. Good body and mouthfeel. Another solid ale from the Fremont crew.

2013 Bottle, can’t remember from whom (IP Seattle) but greatly appreciated. Black with a generous brown head that fades to pretty much nothing. This was enjoyed over an hour or two so had lots of time to develop and open up. Huge amount of bourbon with vanilla and oak up front, burnt malt, bittersweet chocolate, a touch of salt. Silky and full body, mild carbonation, fresh, sticky, quite tasty.
