Our Imperial Oatmeal Stout aged in 15 year old single use Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. A touch of sweetness dances in balance with the hops to finish with a wave and then she’s gone.

Aroma of bourbon soaked fudge. Pours a thick black with a short lived tan head and fine abundant lacing. The taste is wonderful! Bourbon, chocolate, toasted malts, with a touch of bitterness in the finish and a grainy aftertaste. Extremely smooth full bodied mouthfeel accompanied by soft carbonation. Overall, while expensive, it was a real pleasure to taste. Very very easy to drink. EXCELLANT!

markextrae (1287) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2014
shared bottle with a friend. poured a dark black colour leaving a nce tanned ring. 2014 version. dark bitter chocolate, coconut, vanilla, tobacco, roasted malts, oak, chocolate cake, oats, there’s this primairy smell i can’t place. bit of smoke, ash, creamy full bodied mouthfeel. but i was expecting a bit more of this. I think i like the barrel abominable ale a bit more over this beer. it’s still a great beer do!

Probably the beer of the night. Thanks Thomas! Rock near black with a chocolate roasty aroma , flavours of milk and dark chocolate, bitter up front but great mellow oak and vanilla taste. Fantastic.

Shared bottle. Pours almost black with an average tan head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, and malt. Taste is bourbon, dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and oak. Just a touch too much bourbon for me.

Flavour of oatmeal, cake, bourbon, wood, light vanilla, light spice, bitters, some roast, hint of liquorice and mocha/toffee tints. Aftertaste is bitter malty, movha/toffee and some oat roast.... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, almost full bodied and a creamy texture.

Draft sample at FoBAB 2014 pours opaque black. Nose Bourbon and sweet malt. Taste generic bourbon barrel aged lighter stout. Nothing stands out but nothing off putting.

Sample pour from bottle at FOBAB. Pours a dark brown, near black, thin brown head. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malt, chocolates. Taste is a lot of barrel character...bourbon, oak, vanilla...very thin body that does not hold up the barrel. Falls short in the back end, a bit watery with bitter chocolate bourbon lingering.
