Scored at Chucks Itís copper with a solid quilt of light cream foam. Smells like vitamins, lots of malt, some citrus, some more malt, a little tea. First whiff reminded me of Flying Mouflan or AK Barleywine. Flavor is sweet, some caramel and toffee, a touch of alcohol and some almost mineral quality, kinda get a freshly baked pretzel flavor as well - not the chain kind, legit. Medium on full bodied with low carb and a sticky finish. Meh.

Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has a lot of pine and orange citrus notes as well as some toffee malt. The flavor is quite hoppy as well. I get some strong orange citrus and resinous pine as well as a good dose of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle from Paul. Thanks! A: Brilliant copper with a creme colored head. Good lacing. N: Hops and pine, grapefruit, caramel, toffee, sweet biscuit. Spruce and brown sugar. T: Balancing sweetness and heftier bitterness, but neither has an expected oomph. M: Lightly sticky, medium body that lacks a malt density. O: Like an IPA and a barleywine had a baby. The beer for drinking after yard work if you donít want yellow piss.

Bottle: Thanks, Kevin! Rusty copper & brown, dirty & completely murky looking, almost like lagoon water.... No head. None. Not even after a hard pour. Aroma has some notable caramel sweetness, sticky residuals with toffee, dark fruit esters, light green apples, & some peppery phenols. Citrus peel is buried. Taste has even more of that warm, toasty, sticky caramel malt with an even larger residual sweetness aspect, very low attenuation. Notes of graham cracker, toast, molasses, prunes, & dates. Slight hoppage in the finish with some ashy citrus peel, but hidden well under the malty onslaught. Decent barleywine, but nothing special... I didnít find it as "crazy hoppy" as some others have described.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 2/26/2013. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of orange peel, tangerine, lemon zest, golden raisin, candi sugar, light caramel, biscuit, toast, light pine, floral, grass, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of pale/bready malt and citrus hop notes; with good strength. Taste of orange peel, tangerine, lemon zest, golden raisin, light caramel, candi sugar, biscuit, toast, light pine, floral, grass, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Light floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, golden raisin, light caramel, candi sugar, light pine, biscuit, floral, grass, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of pale/bready malts and citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, fairly slick, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice American Barleywine style. All around good balance and complexity of pale/bready malt and citrus/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

22oz black waxed bomber is courtesy of riversideAK, you rock! Alex. It pours with a clear coppery body that supports a nice looking light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up brown sugar, prunes and ripe cherries as well as a bit of sweet molasses and caramel. The taste is full up sweet English style barleywine goodness. It gets quickly into prunes and juicy plums and some sweet ripe cherries. It picks up some caramel and molasses like sweetness here and there before a good load of cherry hard candy takes it into the finish. Nice.

Amber-bodied with fluffy off-white head. Sharp pellet hop grassy nose with fruit flares spring about. Candy and peach become more prominent after several breaths. Gentle peach fuzz flavor with a sweet, rocky candy vein. Grassy hoppyness. This one tastes on the young-side for a barleywine so it may have some upside and continue to grow in complexity and dry out a bit if aged. At this time, it seems like the flavors have not quite had a chance to fully unfurl. Overall, a solid barleywine, nicely balanced, but definitely on the sweet side.
