4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an off white head. Floral hops, caramel, and pine. To me, more of an IIPA vs. a BW ... nice and hoppy.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz black waxed bomber is courtesy of riversideAK, you rock! Alex. It pours with a clear coppery body that supports a nice looking light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up brown sugar, prunes and ripe cherries as well as a bit of sweet molasses and caramel. The taste is full up sweet English style barleywine goodness. It gets quickly into prunes and juicy plums and some sweet ripe cherries. It picks up some caramel and molasses like sweetness here and there before a good load of cherry hard candy takes it into the finish. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amber-bodied with fluffy off-white head. Sharp pellet hop grassy nose with fruit flares spring about. Candy and peach become more prominent after several breaths. Gentle peach fuzz flavor with a sweet, rocky candy vein. Grassy hoppyness. This one tastes on the young-side for a barleywine so it may have some upside and continue to grow in complexity and dry out a bit if aged. At this time, it seems like the flavors have not quite had a chance to fully unfurl. Overall, a solid barleywine, nicely balanced, but definitely on the sweet side.

Itís copper with a solid quilt of light cream foam. Smells like vitamins, lots of malt, some citrus, some more malt, a little tea. First whiff reminded me of Flying Mouflan or AK Barleywine. Flavor is sweet, some caramel and toffee, a touch of alcohol and some almost mineral quality, kinda get a freshly baked pretzel flavor as well - not the chain kind, legit. Medium on full bodied with low carb and a sticky finish. Meh.

Bottle @ Richardís tasting. Amber pour with a white head. Caramel, toffee, and sugar on the nose. Hints of pine, some booze, and butterscotch. Flavor is really sugary, almost grainy. Toffee, caramel, and butterscotch. Pine, some bitterness, and alcohol.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amber pour with a nice white head. I get some roasted nuts up front, caramel, spicy hops, a hint of butter(not too bad), toasted malt, doughy flavors.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Amber and gold colored in appearance with a layer of beige foam. Aroma is a mix of pine resin, caramel malt, orange peel and mint. The flavor is along the same lines with a strong serving of hops resin, caramel and grapefruit rind in addition to some toffee and tropical fruit. Mouthfeel has some slight creaminess with moderate carbonation and a bitter, alcohol-warming finish. PNW style Barley Wine sounds about right.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Burnt orange in color, perhaps a lighter shade than that, thin to moderate frothy sandy head, little lacing.   Sweet citrus peel and pith, soft caramel/toffee, with slight pine on the nose.   Smooth on the tongue, muted wet hops, slightly stale/dank.   Not overly hoppy, nor overly malty, and in fact comes across as being aged a bit.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Not thick, but has a nice balance, coating the tongue well.   Finish lacks any real ump tho.   Simple dank/stale hop and malt profile with a touch of tobacco and tea leaves mixed in.   Hides the 9.5% ABV real well tho!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Honey smells and lightly cereal. More bitter than typical barleywines. Flavors of, butterscotch and maybe some spruce.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(draught at the brewery) cloudy deep gold/amber, creamy bright white head with excellent lacing. Nose is dank, floral, light caramel, touch buttery, west coast tropical hop profile. Taste is quite herbal, bitter without enough sweetness to match. Caramel, honey or maple, well carbonated, bitter floral finish.
