Very tasty and pleasant double IPA. Malt flavors are delicately complex with notes of fresh hay, bread dough, earthy honey and light caramel. Hop flavors are very floral with hints of sweet grass and tangerines. Bitterness is very balanced.

Had off tap with the sister. Apparently both have the same malt base but different hops. I thought the sister was more in your face hoppy and dry, but the girl behind the counter felt the brother was...eh, to each his own. Clear golden color. Floral and sweet flavor nicely balanced with malt sweetness. Low carbonation. Nice brew.

Part of a flight at the taphouse in Fremont. Pretty cloudy brown/orange with a noticeable amount of bubbles coming from the glass bottom. Thin layer of white head and dense lacing. Bright but light citrus scent that’s a little skunky. Bright tart citrus hop aroma that’s a bit juicy and a bit bitter. Not very overpowering, just deceptive in hiding its ABV. Tropical pineapple and tangerine tastes left on finish, somewhat tingly numb tongue as well. Pretty good DIPA.

Sample at the brewery taproom. Pours a clear orange-gold color with a medium foamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing. Aroma of hops, citrus and toasted malt. Medium to full body with flavors of citrusy hops, pine and sweet malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Goblet at the brewery. Aroma is citrus, pine, caramel. Light amber color clear with white head. Taste: A lot of caramel malty sweetness, floral hop bitterness that isn’t too big but not too small. Pretty well-balanced. Lingering bitter finish on the tongue. Med/full body. Lively carbonation; smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Overall: Surprisingly smooth, easy-drinking considering the style/ABV.

Cask @ Brouwer’s Café:   Pale golden, faint haze, moderate to large frothy off-white head, fairly sticky lacing.   Fairly fragrant nose, hops, pine, a little citrus.   Similar tongue, bright but not green.   Very smooth for being 8.5%, almost too smooth!   Not overly abrasive, not a malt bomb, well balanced, but more like a 1¾ IPA.   I will say, that because it is so smooth, clean, and not the biggest IIPA, it would be really easy to drink multiple of these.   Good good, I finished my glass too soon!

From growler, pours golden haze with medium, frothy head. Aromas and taste of vienna malt, cascade and chinook hops....mostly orange citrus and some pine. Meidum bodied. Although I prefer aggressive hopping, this one was balanced extremely well with the malt bill.

Tap at Fremont, Seattle - 08/11/12. Lightly hazed mid amber with a thin off white head. Nose is pine, hops, bitter tropical fruits. Tastes of sweet and bitter tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, mineral tones. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation leading to a bitter finish. Decent.

Poured a hazy gold with a lasting amber head. Aromas of straw, bread, light grapefruit and orange zest. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flaors of bread, straw, lemon and light orange zest with a crisp dry bitter lingering citrus finish.
