Family always comes first. Just when you thought that your poor tongue couldn’t stand any more humulus lupulus, The Sister comes home to prove you wrong. Using the same unbreakable malt backbone of The Brother to balance out a truckload of Calypso and Bravo hops, The Sister weighs in at approximately a billion IBUs.

Down & Dirty: 2-Row, Wheat, Vienna & Dextrapils malts with Amarillo, Columbus, Cascade, Chinook, Calypso & Bravo hops. 8.5% ABV

Pours a semi clear amber with a medium size white head, and very good lacing. Smell is of hops, caramel, earth, and malt. Taste is of hops up front, a tad sweet, caramel, dandelion, malt, and a little citrus. Ends dry and bitter.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Big clean grapefruit on the nose, then it picks up that green onion note that all four of their other hoppy beers have had so far. Medium bodied, big and sweet, more green onion hop juice coming through. Warming alcohol, but not boozy, just present. Slow grapefruit on the finish.

Hazy golden with a large Rocky white head. Big, huge piney butter and pithy aroma full of gentle melon and perhaps kiwi as well. Big hoppy flavor with a big green and leafy hop tone with tropical tones of kiwi and pineapple and melon, but also earthy and bitter piney and dry. A bit bitter and leafy for my taste but somewhat different and leafy.

Can from Full Throttle Bottles. Nice clear copper color with a foamy white head. Pleasant aroma of sweet malt, citrus hops and a hint of dank earth. Big resiny flavor but also a kick of booze. Fairly well balanced for being big. Pleasant.

Can hazy light straw color. Thick soapy white head lots of piney hop flavors and aroma. Very big and fresh. Rather sturdy body esp fornthe light color. Not so much malty or caramel malts. A serious ipa

12 oz. can. Aroma of pine and citrus fruit, with a hint of straw. Bits of yeast are hitting my nostrils, too. Great body. Actually, the texture for me, is perfect for an IPA - not too rich and oily, but not thin and prickly, either. Lingering pine and citrus fruit bitterness. Quite the fresh can here, as it’s about 2 weeks old. More fruit and less pine as it warms. Formidable malt bite at the end. An impressive IPA in my opinion.

Grunt fill from Winco. Rather unassuming pour, but wait for it. Mellow aroma turns into huge, rich hoppy taste, with buttery consistency. Smooth slick, slides right down, heat in the gut reminds you of the ABV.

Great solid flavor. Nose is kinda stuffed so hard to test. Nicely paired with frosted animal crackers. Astringent but not too bitter. "A billion IBUs." Truckload of calypso hops.

Light copper with a white head. Floral and citrus hops with plenty of malty backbone in the aroma. Medium bodied. A very sharp, astringent hop bite right off the bat. Citrus, light floral, sweet malts. Way too sharp with little flavor to back it up. Not something I’d get again.
