Family always comes first. Just when you thought that your poor tongue couldn’t stand any more humulus lupulus, The Sister comes home to prove you wrong. Using the same unbreakable malt backbone of The Brother to balance out a truckload of Calypso and Bravo hops, The Sister weighs in at approximately a billion IBUs.

Down & Dirty: 2-Row, Wheat, Vienna & Dextrapils malts with Amarillo, Columbus, Cascade, Chinook, Calypso & Bravo hops. 8.5% ABV

Light Amber color. Burst of hops on the nose. I want to say there are some Nelson hops I n there. Def more citrusy than th brother. Would love to taste them side by side. Fantastic!

12 oz can pour. Pours a medium body copper with a super piney floral aroma. Thin lasting head. Piney hop flavor balanced with a nice bitter malt that sticks around forever. Bit of caramel in the flavor, but mostly a nice hop finish. Good IPA here.

On tap @ the brewery. Pours dark orange golden with thin white head. Aroma is light sweet malt and citrusy floral hops. Taste is clean caramel malt followed by a sharp bite of bitter hops. Notes of pine and grapefruit on the hops. Easy to drink, though the sweet malt body hints at the 8.5% abv here. Heavy bitter hops kinda dominate, otherwise very likeable.

at Fremont Brewing Hazy amber orange color, white head. Basically a big pine bomb. Lots of pine in the nose and taste. Solid malt backbone but the bitterness really carries this and does it well. Well balanced and hides the ABV well

hazy amber color. Huge piney hoppy nose. The mouth is very hoppy, but solid backbone with lots of pale malts, excellent balance, excellent execution. Superb IIPA on draft at the brewery.

On tap at the brewery. Amber with an off white head. Fresh citrus and tropical hops with hints of pint, very little caramel malt presence. Balanced bitterness, moderate body and carbonation, becomes quite dry, and overall delicious.

Pours clear yellow, finger white head. Smell big grassy hops. Taste bittersweet, dirty grassy hops with a decent malt backbone. Smooth, mid body Very good, a lot like double jack but less sticky.

Draft @ Fremont. Cloudy deep amber with a small beige head. Aroma of pine resin, citrus, caramel and flowers. Flavor is sweet and malty with a medium hop bitterness and some alcohol warming. Medium body a dryish mouth feel. Pretty good IIPA that is very resiny and slightly sweet.

Tap at Fremont. Aroma is pine, backed up by weed, citrus and bread. Amber, fine white bubbles on the surface, lacing. Nice bitterness right away, mostly pine but with some citrus working its way in there, just a hint of sweetness but pretty dry otherwise. Smooth, creamy texture, light carbonation. Abv extremely well hidden - dangerously smooth. Also, delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
