Fremont is the self-proclaimed “Center of the Universe” and Universale, our flagship product, honors the namesake of our unique location. Universale Pale Ale offers a distinctive Northwest twist on the classic pale ale, using a select blend of organic Gambrinus pale roasted malt and Old World malts balanced with classic Northwest hops to achieve a heavenly beer of rich malt flavor and subtle hop spice. This is beer. Enjoy.

From the can the pour is strong colored with a hazy backing and a very thin white head the dissipates quickly, the aroma is citrus hops and very crisp aroma, the taste is citrus lightly hopped and a very good balance, the mouthfeel is thin. Overall impression is a solid ale with a good hop balance that is kept in check and not overpowering, a great ale that is not an IPA.

Can poured a hazy gold with a small lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of bread, earthiness and grapefruit zest. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, citrus and a hint of earthiness with a smooth dry finish.

Tap. Pours a clear gold body with a small wispy white head that fell to a thin ring. The nose is fairly bright floral hops with a light crackery and bready malt base. Very fresh and bright. The flavor is bright and bitter with a grapefruit finish, nicely dry pale malt body. Light bodied and very easy drinking with soft fizzy carbonation. Lingering light tropical fruit hops. Really nice sessionable Pale Ale, this is what I want when on the west coast.

Pours a chill hazed golden yellow on tap with fluffy off-white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of resinous citrus hops and sweet bready malts. Taste is more toward the malty side, a hint of oxidation, but still nice and hoppy to balance. Not bad, but nothing special.

Nice relaxed pale ale. Great addition to a sunny day on the waterfront. Some hops tanginess. Mouthfeel is......normal.

Aroma: Sweet, floral orange, ripe passion fruit, malt, resin. Palate: Flavor and body quickly turn thin. Flavor: Orange, passion fruit, Comment: Sweeter and less bitter than Two Beers Day Hike. Aroma is very good, but the flavor and palate are not. The thin body and flavor from the mid-palate just seems wrong. Their Interurban IPA doesn’t have this fault though it too has a rather short finish.

Can. Tropical fruit aroma with citrus hop notes. Pours clear golden colored with a decent soapy white head with some retention and very little lacing. Starts with sweet tropical fruit flavors with mild hop notes. Finishes smooth with grapefruit citrus flavor and acidity. Nice refreshing pale ale!
