3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy amber coloured body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of english malt with some toffee and caramel sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong caramel and english hoppiness flavours roaming well in the palate. Aftertaste lingers long with that good english maltiness and a subtle hoppiness (low a.a.) showing well. Overall, a nice bitter-good for the style, but not outstanding. I sampled this pint on draught at Barley’s in Knoxville, Tennessee on 03-October-2004.

Good beer. Tried it a week or two ago. Good ESB, though I prefer Fuller’s. Good bitter!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had it poured on tap at the Westville Pub in Asheville. It came to the table with a thin head. The body was orangish to light copper. The aroma’s were citric: lemony, orange. This beer was far too hoppy for an ESB and hardly enough malt profile. Tasted like a west coast pale ale only rather watery and weak bodied as if brewed from extract. The beer was not to style and even without trying to maintain style standards this beer was not very good.

Nice copper ESB. I think that I probably enjoy the name more than the beer, but it tastes great in the spring.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Creamy off-white head, Pale golden, clear color. Slight sweetness and malt in aroma. Yeasty wheat aroma. Slight bitterness in the middle. Grainy flavor. Slightly bitter in aftertaste. I thought this was a summer beer when I drank it and of course the idiots at Flying Saucer told me it was a IPA--why do they hire morons who think that Michelob is a premium beer to work in a place that has 200 taps? It is very counterproductive for the consumer.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not bad at all. Cloudy almost opaque gold coloration. Nice dry and somewhat citrusy. Floral notes were detected also, bitter finish and quite crisp. Better E.S.B’s are out their but this was still pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy Goldish Orange, Small head. Clean, savory spicy aroma. Sharp piney hop flavors up front, thin but certain malt flavors. Crhisp, earthy finish. Not what I think of when I think ESB, but I like it, nonetheless.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
An average ESB. Yellow/golden color with a slim head. Not much of an aroma, but some malt and some bitterness as well. Smooth malty taste. Some dry bitterness at the end. Overall not that bad of an ESB! Had this on tap at Union Jack's in Knoxville, TN.
