Thanks to mikesgroove for sending me this bottle. The beer pours a golden-orange color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of citrus, with some orange and lemon notes. There is also a strong biscuit malt component. The flavor is fairly malt heavy, with both biscuit and toffee. There is also some bitter orange character and a little bit of bitterness. Easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bomber from Bruisin Ales. Pours clear copper with a 3 finger foamy beige head. Aroma of mild roast malt with some herby/floral hop. About med body. Flavor is mild roast caramel and some herby/floral hop. It is most definitely bitter in the finish. Maybe a bit more bitter than our cousins would enjoy, but perhaps not. I’m betting this would be superb in a cask version.

Draft at the brewery. Poured copper with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor were mildly hoppy and lots of caramel malt. Didn’t think the hops smelt/tasted enough of Golding/fuggles, and the caramel was a little one-note. Overall, a bit bland and thin but certainly drinkable.

Taste: pale amber and crystal malt, mild herbal golding hops, tartness, and minerality.

Bottle, thanks Kira and Donna! Amber with a steady off-white head. Lots of bready malt and grain, mild herbal hops. Flavor is similar, much more grainy than I remember from the past.

22 brought back to Maryland from Asheville, NC. I really liked this beer. Mouthfeel is very silky, has some bready/yeasty characteristics. Hops are in balance with the alcohol. All in all, a very drinkable beer.

22oz bottle that my brother brought back from NC, thanks Jeff! Pours a crystal clear, rich copper colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is slightly sweet, bready and grainy caramels with a touch of toast. There is a light, but nice amount of earthy, slightly citrusy hops with some yeasty fruits. Flavor is similar. Grainy, somewhat bready caramels up front with a light herbal spicing. Earthy hops come in to balance during the middle with a light toast, yeasty fruits, and a hint of citrus. Hops pick up towards the end as well as the grainy malts while this finishes dry with a medium-light hop bitterness, a light yeasty spice, and a balanced, crackery malt with a light sweetness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light, crisp, smooth body with a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid ESB. Nothing special, but well balanced with a crisp, easy drinking, pleasantly bitter finish with a nice, light malt sweetness. Good session beer.

Pours a very light copper with a thin, quickly dissipating head. It has a very mild aroma of citrusy hops. The taste is slightly citrusy at first with piney, hoppy notes towards the end. I didn’t really pick up on very much malt flavour, and the mouthfeel is a little thin for my liking.
