wilkie (1045), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA May 1, 2008 Draught at the WBF in Raleigh. Dark brown, off-white head. Nice aroma of yeast, spice and malt. Flavor is tasty as well, the yeast and spice make it more like a Belgian white, but the malt gives it a chocolate/roasty flavor. All in all, pretty good.
Dickinsonbeer (2480), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 18, 2008 Bomber. Pours a woody amber brown with a thin head and light lace. Aroma is lightly peppery, dark toasted malts, sweet caramel and some yeasty phenolic character. Flavor is smooth, moslty sweet dark caramel malts, light nuttiness and chocolate, phenols and esters are toned down and becomes a bit boring although nothing really bad going on. acrdz (4148), Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2008 Dark brown colored body. Very faint nose, almost non-existent… some faint bread crust and Munich malt notes. Smooth and oily up front, some light toast, light Munich malt, some caramel malt, and some wheat chewiness in the finish. Simple. gottalottaibu (226), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jul 13, 2008 bottle.deep brown pour with a big head. aroma of sweet malt and yeast. slightly bready in the flavor. bananas, toffee, and light milk chocolate. awesome carbonation. real fizzy in the mouth. alcohol was nicely hidden. finished with some bitterness. nice beer. beerguy101 (3424), Newark, California, USA Jun 28, 2008 This dunkel pours a dark brown color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized tan foamy head, with good retention. The aroma is mildly chocolate with some banana and yeast. A medium bodied dunkel. The malts are fruity and sweet with some chocolate and banana. The hops are slightly spicy and earthy. This beer starts off sweet and bready like a dunkel and finishes yeasty and fruity. Lively carbonation. A very drinkable dunkel. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and a touch dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Ty5592 (1002), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 22oz bottle. Dark brown color with medium head. Aroma was of of caramel bananas, and light roasted malt. The taste was the same with light dark fruit and bananas in the finish. I really don’t know what this beer was trying to be, but it was fun to drink.
