This is quaffable, not really anything special. Some light caramel sweetness, just a touch of roastiness with a hint of bitterness in the finish.

Copper color with a white head. Aroma is malty with some caramel. Flavor contains some caramel and citrus. Good balance on this one. Overall above average for the style.

On tap at the brewery, Asheville NC, 7 July 2006. Dark amber/copper colour. Reasonable amount of caramel malt. Like the pilsner, clean and crisp. Reasonable balance but the body felt a little thin. An easy-drinking and pleasant, if not particularly exciting, beer. Not sure why it is down as an Amber Ale as I thought it was a lager.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 NachlamSie (2150) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 19, 2006
D-raft at the UJ’s. Pours a solid amber red which is seen through easily. The aroma is delicate of pear and leaves with a hint of caramel type sweetness. As I was expecting, this is quite light on the palate and crisp. It’s got a leafy, caramel-infused taste with hints of corn on the cob in the finish and just a medium level of bitterness. Fair enough.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Quixote18 (230) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - JUL 12, 2006
On draft at Barley’s in Asheville. Clear amber color with a medium-lasting white head. Nice caramel malt aroma with some spicy hops. Flavor was also well hopped without being overpowering. I had a hard time figuring out if they were going for the Marzen or just a plain Amber lager. To me it sort of defies either style, but is still a tasty brew.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 GeneralGao (3545) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - DEC 7, 2005
Draught. Clear copper color with thin off white head. Spicy, metallic hop nose and flavor. Moderately carbonated, crisp, and a bit bitter. Decent beer, true to style.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tronraner (2458) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - SEP 27, 2005
Draught. Pours a clear, medium-copper color with a white head that leaves reasonable lacing. The aroma is faint hops and seems a bit astringent. The palate is a bit fizzy, but has a comfortable density. I taste hops first, then the malt works its way into the finish. Also, as the beer warmed to room temperature, it got a bit cardboard-y.
