Pours clear and brown. Light beige head. Smell is light smokiness and malt. Refreshing and watery for the style and not stickily sweet and fucking gross like most scotch ales. So So.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 Bomber. Pours a dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Aroma was pretty mild: roasted malt, a bit of fruit. Flavor is roasted malt, some molasses and fruit (cherries), rather sweet. Not terribly notable.

The aroma is maltly mostly caramel with toast. The color is deep brown with ruby notes. Minimal head. The body is medium to heavy and very smooth. Decent, the -er is much better.

Dark brown, almost black with a thin lacing of head. Aroma is slight, some roasted malt and a little musty. Flavor is a little sweet followed by a fairly strong bitterness though it doesn’t linger at all. Mouthfeel is very thin, it should have a fuller body. Overall, not bad but the lack of body really hurts this one.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2011 On tap, pours with some light lacing, sweet caramel aroma, a bit of toffee, first sip is a bit bitter, not as sweet as I would expect. Interesting.

On draft at Taco Mac. Pours almost an opaque dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is lots of malt, maple, and some dark cherry. Flavor is similar with lingering malts and dark cherry. Light to medium body for a scotch ale and enjoyable overall.

Drank from the tap at The Tupelo Honey Cafe in Asheville, NC. Pours a light brown. Aroma is roasted malts, slightly sweet. Taste is of chocolate and caramel, but very thin and watery, not to much complexity. Grad an Oskar Blues instead.
