3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ FBGBF ’010. Pouring crystal clear ruby red amber with light tan head and spotty lacing. It is a good looking beer. The mild aroma is sweet with a touch of caramel, a little bit of toffee and maybe a hint of butterscotch and some nuttiness. The taste is modest starting with dry roastiness sliding into mild nuttiness and them becoming a bit roasty with malts and some caramel sweetness around the edges all mixing into the finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @ FBGBF ’10.
Pours amber, off-white head.
aroma, roasted malts, dry malts, mild nose of caramel.
flavors, nice roasted malts is a little hindered by the hoppy side that seems to be a little too high, med-high carb, simple roast/pale malts.
Not a bad brown, just a tad boring.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
7/2/11. 12oz bottle. Clearish dark amber pour with a big khaki head that fades fast. Horrifying dusty chocolate aroma like a melted chocolate bar left under sweaty feet all day. Slightly sour chocolate flavor with dust and a huge dose of metal. The body is ridiculously light. I wish this damn brewery would cease to exist.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 2, 2008 Pours deep mahogany red/brown with not much head. smells sour like unroasted soggy chestnut and unidentifiable sourness. body is thin. flavors are earthy and include more unroasted wet nut (peanut, walnut). A teensy tiny bit of hop rounds it out a little. 4-2-5-3-11
re-rated on tap at Moir’s Food Shack, Jupiter, FL. Amber brown color. Hoppy aftertaste with sweet malt backbone. Chestnut aroma and flavors, smells strongly of mushroom. Decent pour, deserved an up-rate.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2011 Rerate Revisit four years later, same impression and ratings Original 2.9 Ft. Myers, Total Wines, 12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour, pillowy off-white head. Sweet, caramel and toffee aroma. Flavor has some cake mix sweetness, some nuttiness and a trace of metallic blandness. Trace of caramel in the finish. Mouthfeel a tad too carbonated. Better than expected.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz Bottle - Trade - Daknole
Aroma – Nice dark malt beer with a light nutty aroma.
Appearance – Brown in color, Thick head and hazy.
Flavor – A dark malt beer with a nutty flavor this was a nice easy to drink beer. Was expecting more from this beer. Little flavor of coffee and toffee in the back.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was a decent brown ale with some small issues. Needed ore time or less of one of the special ingredients. I think they had too much in the beer and it was fighting for the flavor to come out.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: Pours a clear, reddish-brown body circled with a thin ring of bubbles.
Smell: Aroma of toast, roast, caramel, and nuts. Yes sir, it’s a brown ale, alright.
Taste: Flavor of toasted nuts with a small hint of roast and a restrained caramel sweetness. Light spicy hops, low bitterness. Drying finish with a lingering nuttiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-high carbonation.
Drinkability: Sure, it’s designed for easy drinking, but in a world filled with brown ales, this one is just so-so.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Brown color. Some malt. Light palate. Not much here, drinkable enough, if nothing to enjoy. Its a brown ale, so I don’t expect much.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2009 The aroma is dusty, sweet and chocolate like. The appearance is light brown with a huge head. The flavor is like the aroma with cardboard and a bit of sourness. The palate is thin. I think this is a rather disappointing brown.
