Malziger und opulent schokoladiger Geruch. Antrunk kräftig malzröstig. Intensiv röstige, würzmalzige Mitte, welche an geröstete Erdnüsse erinnert. Dunkelmalzig und schokoladig-würziger Ausklang. Sehr gutes Dunkles.Test vom 18.1.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Bottle 50cl from Quack-Duck thanks a lot. A nice clear amber-brown beer with low head. Nose is on caramel malt. Aroma is sweet, rich in dark flavors, caramel, brown bread, dark bitter chocolate, creamy, cereal like, one of the best dunkel I had. Nice fruity finish on dry grapes, molasses, brown candy sugar, grain, really pleasant, thanks Stephan.

Bottle. Chocolate/molasses malt and hay aroma. Clear chestnut color with nice head. Mildly sweet chocolate malt, lightly smokey wood, and mildly bitter herbal hops flavor. Pretty complex for a dunkel. An excellent dunkel.

The beer in the glass is shiny black and red with a flat, short-lived head. Smells caramel malty, with some toffee and roasted malt. That’s how a good Dunkles has to smell! The beer starts with sweet caramel malt and a subtle chocolate note. In the background it’s slightly roasted bitter. The aftertaste is very malty, also again pleasantly chocolaty with long finish. By the middle part to finish, the beer is still good caramel malt, pleasantly bitter, with good roasted malts in background.

Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Quack-Duck. It pours a clear copper brown beer with a nicely remaining creamy light beige head. Caramel, moss, raisin, candy floss, lavender honey, tobacco, dried apple and lovage showing up in the nose which is malt accented. The taste is surprisingly sweet. Medium bodied. Luscious malt presence. Perfectly balanced. A lot of caramel, asparagus and candy components. Late bitterness. Beautiful lacework. Delicate carbonation. Faintly smoky. Good hop profile. Surprisingly chocolatey finish which is dry, reminiscent of chocolate powder and papaya. I prefer the taste over the nose. Definitely a delicious Dunkel. Top notch. I am impressed. Thanks a lot Quack-Duck!

Bottle 50cl. @ home.
Clear medium to dark red brown color with a large to huge, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate notes, light bready. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090606]
