Bottle (thanx to Quack-Duck!): Clear, chestnut-amber coloured, stable mid-sized off-white head; molasses, sweet dark malt and black berries in the aroma; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, pretty light bodied for a beer of 8.5%; mild and sweet-sugary finish, presenting dark malts and delicate dried fruits. Middle-of-the-road Doppelbock......

Brown red with some off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, vegetables, coffee, caramel and chocolate. Flavour of caramel, roasted malt, salty licorice and hint of dark fruits. This sweet too. Not bad at all. Full bodied and medium carbonated.

Bottle. Dark brown, small and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate malty and caramel sweet aroma, light bread and light alcohol. Medium, malty and caramel sweet flavor, light roasted malt and bread. Finish is short to average, malty and sweetish, some caramel, light bread and some alcohol. Sugary sweet doppelbock.

The beer in the glass is deep brown with a nice red tinge. The foam is flat, medium-pored and quickly disappeared. The beer smells roasty, chocolaty, slightly coffee and licorice. It starts with a strong roasted coffee aroma, coupled with a massive malt body, and some toffee and licorice in the background. The middle part is powerfully malty, with lots of liquorice, toffee and coffee! Goes into a very-roasted coffee, caramel and licorice finish!

0.33 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Dark reddish brown color. The aromas of dark bread, raisins, chocolate some caramel and some tart alcohol. The aromas of fresh malt and malt husk. Sweet dark bread taste with raisins, nuts and hints of sweet cherry. Good malty dobbelbock.

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, caramel, alcohol, light roasted and brown sugar. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, bread, caramel, burnt caramel - brown sugar. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110702]

Geruch angenehm röstmalzig und schokoladig mit leichter Alkoholnote. Antrunk spitz-süßlich, malzig. Im Mittelstück schmeichelnd flüssig, dabei schokoladig-bitter und röstig. Röstbitternd ablaufend. Dark copper color, small beige head. Dark fruity, slightly smoeky aroma with dark malts and caramel. Medium-bodied. Licorice, caramel, medicine, dark malts in the flavor. Stylish, sweetish doppelbock.

Bottled. Deep reddish amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee and some mild alcoholic. Flavour is sweet malts, raisins, mild toast as well as some mild notes of alcohol.

Der herb-malzige Antrunk bietet einen guten Einstieg in das später deutlich malzbetonte Bockbier. Im Mittelteil wird das Bier spürbar intensiver, dunkelmalzig, cremig, dezent röstig, später auch etwas nussig. Hier werden die Malznoten komplexer und bilden Karamellnoten. Nicht schlecht, könnte aber vollmundiger sein. 10/11/11/12/8/11

Bottle at Papsø. Pours hazy amber with a medium off white head. The aroma is sweet caramel, fruit and light hops. The flavour is sweet fruit, sweet malt and dark fruit. A little too much to the sweet side.
