A dark, full bodied, bittersweet chocolate porter... We hope it will soon be as famous as our Whoopie Pies!

Tasted on 6/12/14 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle purchased at Bangor Wine and Cheese. Pours very thick, completely black with a thick dark brown head that slowly recedes to a thick collar of lace. The nose is roasted dark chocolate, fresh coffee grounds, marshmallow, vanilla, and some molasses. The flavor is about the same, really filled with tons of vanilla, marshmallow, dark chocolate coffee cake, and plenty of molasses. The body is very full with an almost creamy texture, just under average carbonation, and a long nicely bitter mocha cake and light vanilla finish.

From the corked and caged 750 ml;. bottle. The pour is jet black with little head that fades. The aroma is full of chocolate, dark malts and with a low hop profile. The body is a little heavier than light. The taste brings out a good sweet malt and chocolate character with little on the backside,. But it is fairly tasty.

Pour from bottle into 4 oz taster. Aroma is pleasant malt with exact smell of a whoopie pie. Appearance is dark brownish black with minimal head. Taste is a small amount of a standard porter but basically it tastes exactly like a whoopie pie. Palate is light bodied with thin texture and soft carbonation and nice sweet long finish. Overall, high marks for nailing the taste. If you donít want or donít like whoopie pies, donít drink this. If you love them, and would like to drink an alcoholic version, this is for you.

Bottle from the Good Beer Store. Solid black color with a huge very dark tan head that lasts forever. The nose is a mix of chocolate cake batter and frosting with just a hint of alcohol. It smells very sweet and intense with chocolates. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. I pick up a bit of raspberry initially but that could be in my head. light earthiness and bitter roast balances the flavor nicely. Medium to thick body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a sweet sticky bubbly mouthfeel. Thatís pretty intense with the chocolate flavors, I liked it.

750 ml bottle purchased at 7-11 Kittery, ME. Very dark brown color, very mild head retention. Aroma is similar to the pie. Chocolate and vanilla cream and brown sugar. The body of the Porter is normal for the style with a lightly dry roasted finish that shows a sustained chocolate and vanilla hints through the sip. The chocolate is really abundant. Much better offering than the other sample I had from this brewery, decent.

Pours a three finger light brown head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Black color, no highlights, ton of yeast left in bottle. Good carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Baked chocolate nose and flavor is almost burnt chocolate. $12.80 for a caged & corked 750ml bottle from Tullyís Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

Pours a beauti dark brown with a cocoa froth colored lacing. The aroma is chocolate and graham cracker. The flavor starts off sweet, finishes bitter and comes across somewhat extract like or chemical

A deep dark porter with a thick frothy dark brown head. In aroma, loads of chocolate malt with light grassy coffee, creamy character, smooth and fruity. In mouth, sweet fruity chocolate malt with coffee grind, vanilla, licorice, alcohol warmth, alcohol warmth, very nice. #OttBottShare.
