Bottle (purchased at the Brauerei): Straw golden, "normal" white head, pale-malty, a bit barnyardy and distinctive aromatic bitter-hoppy nose; medium bodied, solid bitter-sweet flavour; robust, but not very long bitter-sweet finish. O.K:, average decent franconian quality........

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 15, 2012
Hell hopfiger, süß-getreidiger Beginn. Der Bock bleibt hopfig, im Mittelteil trifft die Süße auf eine alkoholisch geprägte Bitterkeit. Grasig, mir persönlich, wie bei vielen hellen Böcken, zu süß. Getreidig, hell holzig. In Ordnung für eine hellen Bock. 10/10/9/11/11/10

Bottle, sold as Friedel Friedelsator Doppelbock. Pale blonde. Malty, soft grassy notes and dried fruit in the aroma. Malty bready sweet flavor with hints of buttercake. Full bodied. Bready. Hints of dried fruit. Soft and fairly low on carbon. Not a trace of alcohol. Very well balanced. lovely!

Bottle - thanks Pivnizub! Aromatic hop and spicy malt aroma. Pale golden, fluffy white head. Very nice bitter aromatic entrance, ok chewy body - deceptively light and drinkable mouthfeel, quick finish. Lemonpeel retronasal. Nice.

Bottle at the Laid back Brussels Tasting (Feb 9, 2008)
Clear, yellow body. White, fizzy head. Well balanced aroma of German hops with some malts. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish. Nice complexity and balance. Very nice beer.

JoeinEscazú (1181) - San Jose, COSTA RICA - FEB 13, 2008
A serious yet easy-going and refreshing bock. Pours a nice, pale gold with diminishing head. Dryish, grassy nose with some corny malts and light hops. Flavor has only a touch of corny sweetness before a nice rolling-in of dry, mild bitterness. Balanced. Light bitterness in finish in aftertaste.

Ungstrup (23981) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 16, 2007
Draft. An orange beer with a dense white head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with light notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with quite strong notes of alcohol, combined with a note of caramel. The body is quite thick, and the alcohol bites in the tongue.

MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2007
(33cl bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a small foamy white head. Sweet malty, slightly grainy nose with a touch of DMS and herbal hoppy notes, also slightly alcoholic. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a medium carbonation. Pale malt-accented taste, slightly grainy and strawy. Bitter-sweet finish with a touch of spicy hops and a present but non-disturbing alcoholic touch. Rather average but drinkable.

Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 17, 2006
(On tap) Clear, pilsener golden with a white head leaving laces. Somewhat unclean malt aroma with distinct notes of alcohol. Quite full-bodied with sweet malt and extremely distinct alcohol. Appears as if it hasn’t fully matured. 091106
