Bottled. Almost clear amber colour. Huge, slightly off-white, rocky head that took ages to diminish. Grassy hops aroma with a little hint of oak. Malty taste with a hint of honey and some caramel. Medium sweet. Low to medium hop-bitter finish. Great stuff. Thanks to bierkoning for this lovable Franconian beer.

Maria (8586) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2012
It’s dark amber with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of caramel and malt. The flavor has a light sweetness bordering to moderately sweet and notes of malt, caramel, flower and the finish is dry and slightly bitter. Smooth and pleasant.

Bottled (from landbierparadies). Hazy brownish colour with a small beige head. Aroma is fruits, nuts, mild malts and some chocolaty and toffeeish notes. Flavour is caramel, nutty notes, some floral notes as well. Very pleasantly balanced.

My Bottom Line :
Fierce carbonation nearly overshadows this lager’s beautiful toasted malt notes, balanced out by delicate peppery hops and their spicy, orangey angles.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-Foam clings to the deep amber till the very bottom of the glass is reached.
-The body is slender and the brew very drinkable, especially after some breathing in the glass.
-While the flavor profile reminds me of Reichold’s delightful Lagerbier, the forced carbonation tends to take this brew into soft drink territory at times. I’d love to try this naturally carbonated at the brewery…

Bottle.

Wenig malziger Antrunk, mild. Etwas süßlich, das Malz dehnt sich noch etwas aus bevor es an eine unscheinbare Herbe stößr. Ebenso ausgleitend. Trinkbare unauffälliges Bier. 9/8/9/9/?/9
