The head is stable, the body brown-red. It smells intensive, hoppy, creamy. The taste is hoppy, intensive aromatic, fruity-flowery. In the aftertaste a bit more bitter-creamy. Tasty! 13/12/12/13/12/13

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2013 from bottle. pours a clear red colour with a minimal beige head. awesome hoppy aroma of mango, grapefruit, peach, pine needles and pineapple with a lot of maltiness and some honey notes going on. low carbonation, medium body and oily texture. main flavours are blood orange, pine and mango with a notable malt backdrop. very well balanced and not too bitter. really enjoyable!

Draft at Altes Mädchen in Hamburg. Pours a hazy amber with a nice white lasting head and excellent lacing. Smells of citrus and flowers. Tastes sweet, with a strong bitterness. Finishes with a smooth maltiness. Quite impressive.

Dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Fresh hoppy aroma with tropical fruit notes. Burnt caramel, light vinous notes, good grapefruity bitter bite with decent green and piney hop flavours. Good balance.

12,14,13,13, - 13 - 13,05 - 1/3/2013

750ml bottle, hazy amber-orange hue, with a bubbly beige head, nice yeasty fruity, floral orange, lemon peel, leafy, grassy hoppy nose, with a caramel, toasted, pale, bready malt, orange marmalade accent, and a pannetone cake dough, sublte orange lollipop note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice sweet toasted, caramelized, biscuity, bread malty, doughy, fruity orange peel yeastiness character, and a good flowery leafy, grassy, lemon citrus hoppy flavour, with a mild candied lemon, orange peel, piney, minty undertone, leading towards a yeasty orange peel fruity, doughy, citrus, leafy, grassy, piney hop bitterness finish.

Boutip (4024) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 11, 2012
Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a large off-white foamy head with great retention and some pretty good lacing. Aroma of citrus hops is dominating with bready malt backbone and dry hoppy notes also perceptible. Taste is dominated by medium citrus notes with a solid bready malt backbone and a dry hoppy finish. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Interesting take on this American style by a German brewer though not as much floral hoppy notes as I was expecting.

Rastacouere (6058) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 26, 2012
Layers of white foam decorate this murky to the point of seeming milky golden ale. Piney, flowery and orangey hop aromas jump at the nose despite the potential lack of freshness. They evolve in a mineral setting, one in which the malts feel round and relatively filling despite the strong carbonation, but also one in which they ironically feel relatively dry and that’s despite a noticeable crystal malt presence. That last sentence would usually be a positive trait for me, but it all comes with a certain roughness to the bitterness that borders astringency and cuts the malt deployment with a rudeness that is not soft-edged at all. Warming up, alcohool creeps into the aromatic profile significantly and that’s not necessarily desirable in a sub-8% brew. I’m sure it would have been more pleasant if fresher, but it’s still quite a few months before it reaches the expiration date market on the bottle. So all in all, nicely aromatic and with hop varietals I enjoy, but a bit rough on the delivery and as expensive as it is, not something I’m very inclined to revisit.
