3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (4783) - Montreal, - JAN 4, 2012
In short: A bright, nourishing, doughy, citrusy and piney IPA. Surprisingly good.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase
The look: Opaque dark orange body, enormous quantity of yeast particles, large white head with good retention.
In long: Strong and bright nose of citrusy American hops, toasted bread and light notes of peach cake. Taste has a fresh baguette, flavorful luscious caramel, a lot of cookie dough, lots and lots of bright citrusy, piney and sandy hops. Very nourishing body. Lively carbonation and doughy mouthfeel. Round bitterness of medium intensity with a slight resinous character. Alcohol is relatively well hidden. This is unmistakably the bigger sister of Fritz Ale India Pale Ale, same hops signature, same malt signature, same doughy body, same everything. This one is obviously more instance while the little sister was more refreshing. I liked both equally. I drank this big 750ml bottle in a picturesque park immediately after visiting a beautiful Vlad Dracula castle in Transylvania, to immortalize the moment. And if any of you guys need an excuse to drink a beer, just drop me a beermail, I have an unlimited supply of them.

Geruch zitrusartig-aromareich, Maracuja. Startet süß-aromatisch, etwas ölig wirkend. Mitte sehr zitrusbetont, hopfenölig und leicht alkoholisch. Im Abgang malzige Statur, bittert trocken ab. Sehr gut.

/12/13/13/11/12
