jgb9348 (1863), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Feb 26, 2008 Deep amber coloured body with some interesting brown highlights and a thinnish tan head that dies amazingly quick. Aroma of fresh apples, corn, pears sugar and a bit of malt - wierd, but not bad. Very mild malty flavour with some fake sugars and a bit of a fruity kick. Aftertaste, nothing to back up at all - some malt, but aside from that - nothing but sugar. Overall, a pretty one-sided and bland offering - definitely worth passing! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 25-February-2008. MrBunn (951), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 28, 2007 Bottle. Pours an amber/gold with lots of little floaties and a medium head that leaves nothing more than a thin film after a few seconds. Aromas are sweet: honey, white grape and apple juice... not much complexity or interest. Flavor is about the same, but with a little bit of a sour funk to it. Not much redeemable to talk about. patrick767 (1547), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 10, 2007 tap at the brewpub - I’m going to assume that the cream ale I had at the brewpub is this one. The menu just said "cream ale". Pours clear yellow. The mild malt aroma isn’t bad, but it’s barely there. It has a light malt flavor with maybe some mild citrus in there. The mouthfeel is lightly creamy and while rather thin bodied, manages to avoid being really watery. Not bad, in my opinion. detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 3, 2007 It pours a clear yellow gold, with a thick head of nearly white sudsy foam. Good head retention. A steady stream of carbonation is encouraging. An aroma of lemony hops seems out of place.
This beer isn’t bad, but it isn’t really good either. It lacks the creaminess and the touch of sweetness that I like in cream ales. It is pretty bland, really, with a very mild grainy malt and an equally mild lemon hops. I know that cream ales aren’t supposed to be mind-blowing, but this one is just flat-out underwhelming footbalm (1217), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jan 20, 2007 Bottle from Hopscotch. Not sure way you sent this to me in that trade as you rated it a drain pour. Next time I see you we will be talking!!! This thing was f*cking horrible.
