Merton Beer Festival, Merton, Oxon, Sept 2004. Orange in colour with a slight haze, initial sweetness then some maltiness and hops present themselves. First beer I have had from this brewery but most enjoyable.

Bottle from the Offie, Leicester. Burnt copper colour, small fluffy head. Rather tasty, sweet sugary aroma. Surprisingly flavoursome beer: very smoky, especially during the long, dry finish. Any sweetness evaporates into a dry leafy, autumnal bitter, which is quenchingly hoppy indeed. Excellent.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2010 Cask conditioned. Orangey coloured with very little aroma. The flavour is relatively uninteresting - only mildly hoppy. May have been approaching the bottom of the barrel as I recall this beer on much better form before.Score 2.8

The 2003 Xmas beer. Cloudy orange in colour. Aromas are citrus lemon and pepper. Flavours are fruity, citrus with a sherbert sweetness. Has a nice long dry finish. Shame it is a little similar to some other Frog Island brews.

Bottle conditioned. Hazy orange gold, moderately lasting white head and low condition. Hop and yeast aromas, with some fruity malt as it warms. Low malt notes in the mouth but yeast bite takes over and doesnt let go until long after you have swallowed.
