2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. The pour is a cloudy orangish color. The aroma is a lot of hops and some sweet fruit. The taste I am pretty sure infected. Tastes like garbage. 2 thumbs down.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle… Clear, deep, dark, dirty-orange ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The nose presents an interesting marriage of toffee, cotton candy malts and floral, herbal hops. Full-bodied and oily with zippy carbonation. Nice caramel and other malty, toasted flavors are a bit tainted by odd, herbal hops or phenols. Finishes crisp, mildly sweet, herbal and minerally. Bottle courtesy of dmschefke!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle from Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI. Pours a deep brown-amber colored body with a finger-width, foamy and fizzy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet, richer toffee bread and caramel with some dark fruits in there and a touch of toast. A light earthiness behind the malts. Flavor is similar. Caramel, bready toffees, and raisin dark fruits up front. A touch of toast and a light earth comes in to balance somewhat as this finishes with a bit of a cloying sweetness and a decent dryness. I get maybe a hint of peat in the aftertaste that is fairly sweet with some earth and lasts for a medium duration. Medium-full, smooth body with a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty average scotch ale. Fairly sweet with a light earth and a decent malt backing. Not very complex and no real peat characteristics that I look for in a good scotch ale. This wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t remarkable.
