What started many years ago as a seasonal brew has become a FrogBeer cellar icon! By combining the pleasantly floral aroma of a mild Bobek hop with fresh root ginger, lemon and lime our brewers have created a truly unique beer, notable for its zingy aftertaste and drinkability! Crisp, clear golden amber in colour; fresh, fizzy and full of flavour; we are proud to say that there’s no other beer that we’ve tasted (yet!) that’s quite like our Ginger Twist.

A ginger seasoned Summer lager initially brewed for the 2002 World cup (Coupe du Monde) and formerly known as Coupe du Blonde and at 4.8%.

Clear brass colour. Strong and fresh ginger aroma. Taste is incredibly fresh ginger with a bit of malt. I could knock back nine of these on a hot day.

I bought this beer at the monoprix in Paris. The color is nice like a ale copper and orange. The carbonation is regular and thin foam. The taste is really sour and a bit metalic and sour limon, few hop. It is not really my kind of beer. The sensation is in the mouth agressive, in my point of view.

On draft at Frog & Rosbif in Toulouse. Pours a clear yellow/amber with frothy white head. Aroma of ginger and malts, taste similar, sweet with citrus. High carbonation, almost like a champagne, medium bodied. Very refreshing.

Couleur ambrée légère et limpide, mousse blanche minimale disparaissant rapidement. Nez citron et gingembre. La bouche est quasi exclusivement sur le gingembre. Corps faible, carbo faible, longueur courte. Passable, aussitôt bue, aussitôt oubliée.

Bottle in Paris. Smooth mild beginning. Not too intense. Hints of lemon, not much ginger. Sweetish and easy to drink. No depth, refreshing with a not much bitter aftertaste. Fruity but not more.

Ginger twist Amber ale 4.2% pours the light gold I am coming to expect from these guys. Nice fruity ginger and light Pilsner malt notes. Somewhat radler like but tasty.

On tap @ Frog & Princess (Paris). Coppery color with a minimal and quickly diminishing light white head. Aroma has strong notes of ginger with hints of caramel. High presence of ginger on palate. Light red fruits in the aftertaste.

[Draught at Frog XVI, Paris, May 22] 31st rating of my Paris/Amsterdam trip. Pours a hazy yellow-gold, quite bubbly, with a small diminishing fizzy white head. Aroma of grain, fruit and ginger along with a bit of bread and that’s it. Slightly watery flavour has a good amount of ginger -- kind of tastes like a Blonde Ale with some ginger. Average bodied. Not as much ginger as I’d like but still more then some -- just pretty good overall.
