2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at The Fountain, Leek. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of orange, slight peach, a little ginger and some grassy hops. Taste of orange, brambles, some ginger, subtle pale malts and grassy hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A short, dryish, brambly, grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Quite a weird golden ale, the hops used are very weedy and grassy. It’s ok though, drinkable.

Very pale yellow colour with thin head. Starts out as a fairly simple blond ale but the flavour delivers a touch of smokey meat.

Cask Hops Bar Crewe. Pleasant looking golden ale, some unusual light smoke in the aroma & taste, some soft peachy fruit, but it’s a little thin and verging on bland.

Cask @ Brewery Tap, Chester. Golden-amber with a small head. Has some a hint of citrus orange about it that gives it a pleasant sweet taste and its nose is similar too.
