on tap @ Front Street Brewery / Davenport IA --- Hazy dark gold, solid head cover, curtain of lace. Taste is a pleasant surprise: malt with an immediate shot of bing cherries. Both flavors coast through the palate to a light bittering in the end that tuerns more sour as it lingers. Goes down smooth and easy - good stuff!

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2014 On tap, poured into a 4oz sampler. The aroma is a moderately strength-ed, cherry pie sweetness with a touch of candy sugar sweet and/or a cough drop note. It pours a clear, yellow gold with a hint of orange. A medium white ring retains with a micro bubble, very light lace. The taste is a medium high sweet note with a light bitterness. The thin texture has a bubbly carbonation and a medium body. A cough drop flavor combines with a grainy quality at the finish with a bit of cherry pie. It?s dry, with the cough drop and grain flavors lingering in the aftertaste with a touch of pine. The cherry flavor turns a touch sour cherry in the aftertaste.

I wasn’t impressed by this brew. Everything about tasted fake. I got the cherries in the aroma and flavor but it seemed more like cough medicine cherry flavor.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Tap at Front Street in Davenport on Nov. 25, 2011. Mostly clear pale yellow pour with a decent clingy white head. Nice cherry aroma. Thin palate. Taste is pale lager and a touch of cherry funk. They actually put a cherry in the sampler.

On tap at brewpub, pours a light golden with a thin head, aroma has a decent cherry amount and the flavor had a nice bing cherry flavor, pretty balanced overall, I actually enjoyed this one.

Tap at the pub. Pours a cloudy dull yellow with slight head. Sweet aroma of cherries, fruit and soft grain. Cherry is evident in the flavor, that is balanced against a bitter backbone. Slight bitter finish with no fruit remaining. Surprisingly good.

Have had on tap a few times at the brewpub in a pint glass with a delightful cherry dropped in. This is probably my favorite beer of theirs, even though it’s a simple fruit beer. The flavor is slightly sweet balanced with a nice tart character while still tasting the beer backing underneath.

Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy, golden color with thin white head. The bone-dry, crisp, and bitter characteristics of this beer melded nicely with the ample cherry flavor. Nice fruit beer.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2005 Thanks for sharing the sample, Duane. The body is a light clear gold. The aroma is decent with vanilla, cherries and a hint of perfume. The taste is bready with a hint of the cherries in the finish. There is also a light peppery finish.

5 oz. sample at the brewpub. the barkeep called this a cherry stout, but whether it is a fruit beer or a stout, the cherry flavor was minimal. an OK beer, nothing spectacular.
