COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hefe-Weizen is a true German-style wheat beer, brewed with a noble German yeast and using wheat grown right here in the heartland. The result is a smooth, refreshing and unique beer.

On tap at Front Street Brewery. Ultra hazy banana yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of banana, clove and corn. Taste of lemon, banana and corn. The forced carbonation in their beers is getting annoying on sample number three.

On tap at brewpub, pours a clear golden with no head, there is a slight spiced aroma but the flavor is pretty weak with hardly anything to it, just another average brew.

I had this on tap at the brewpub in a pint glass. I didn’t take notes beyond the numbers, but I remember it being pretty average.

On tap at the brewpub: Wow, I wonder if the brewery has changed its recipe since the previous raters sampled this brew? I found this to be a very pleasant hefe, with the right notes of cloves & ’nannas. It poured a cloudy yellow with an intiially sizable white head. Good lacing. Nice clove-y aroma. Well balanced taste between the wheat base and "spicy" follwup. Very creamy mouthfeel. I thought this was a pretty good example of the style.

On tap at the brew pub. Orange/yellow hazy color. Slight bubblebum aroma. Came with a slice of lemon. Light hefe flavor with strong lemonade quality. Opaque. Light crisp finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy, golden color with only a ring of white head. Served with a lemon. pleasant orange aroma. Is this a wit or a hefe? Citrusy, cereal grain flavor. Unlike the previous raters, I missed the banana and cloves I was expecting. Good beer, but not really a hefe.

at the brewpub last night with Heemer. pour is a hazy, dark yellow with a fast fading head. a nice balance of weat malt, banana & clove flavors but there was too much carbonation here for me to fully enjoy it.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2005 A darker clear gold body. The aroma was surprisingly nice. Strong with cloves and a hint of banana. The taste is over ripe bananas with a hint of clove and peaches. Light and refreshing. This is a pretty nice hefe.
