clear dark amber, fine beige head, nice lace, sweet caramel malt aroma with a nice nutty character, lots of sweet caramel flavor, light bitterness, a touch of appropriate butterscotch accentuates the sweetness in the aroma and flavor, <br />

Had a chance to stop by the brewpub while in town for a couple days to fix minor tropical storm damage from this past August... Clear, dark, burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, light khaki head. Great retention. Subtle nose with gentle notes of mash, citrus and chocolate. Perfectly-balanced flavor. Mildly tangy and grainy. Light-bodied and slightly creamy with almost no carbonation. Finishes watery and tangy. Nice! Kevin definitely brought this recipe down with him from Virginia. ross (1582), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Oct 24, 2006 The server told me about this one, and that it was a new brew that was served a little warmer than typical beer, and not as full of CO2. He was right, but it was pretty good. Smell was sweet, spicy, and it was very similar to a pumpkin ale kind of. Probably a fall seasonal, but I do not want to enter that in without being 100% sure. Taste is smooth and very easy to drink. The most unique beer I drank there. Quite pleasing.
