COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American style India Pale Ale. If you like hops you’ll like this beer. Large amount of American hops give this ale a great citrus hop profile and large amounts of Vienna malt were used to create balance.

Pours light brown color with foamy whitish film. Aroma lots of citrus hops. Flavor very nice malt-hop balance with medium mouthfeel. Bit piney and citric bitterness. Overall a good ipa.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a medium sized creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee malts, citrus hops and a bit of butter. The taste is bitter citrus and herbal hops, toffee malts. Lingering bitterness, medium bodied, average carbonation. Solid beer.

Pint at the brewery. Pours almost red with little head formation. I don’t get much hops in the nose, maybe a little grassiness. Lots of biscuit and caramel make up the aroma. This is a pretty sweet IPA, it’s caramelly with plenty of biscuit flavor. There are hints of copper and melons. It gets pretty sticky pretty quick. I’d like more hops from the style. This doesn’t quite do it for me.

Very hoppy. Summertime awaits. Maybe this is too focused on hops. While I think the extra-strong hops might detract a bit from the taste, they do smell delicious.

Tap at the brewpub. Clear golden color, white head. Aroma of lemon. Taste of lemon. Extremely bitter. Not sure that all the citrus is from the hops.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2011 Down in Wilmington , NC for the Hall Family reunion, We visited the Front Street brewery. It was slammed. I tasted four beers. The IPA was the first up. The IPA poured a cloudy gold. Grapefruit and citrus flavors dominated the ale. The balanced alcohol 6.1 % was a positive. The finish was smooth and with no bitter aftertaste. For our vacation I purchased a growler for the beach. The ale was good and poured the same cloudy burnish gold. In 2011 on our way to Holden Beach we purchsed another growler. The finish was smooth with a pleasant bitterness.

On tap at Hickory Hops 2010! Full body IPA somewhat high in ABV. Medium mouth feel. Sweet to smell!

Draft – Golden amber, creamy white head. Soft pine and citric aromas warm to a touch of florals. Bitter spicy citric-pine tones ride underlying fruity flavors throughout. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Decent hop fix, but very one-dimensional…

On tap at the pub, July 2009. This was a nice, well rounded IPA, good malts, hops were bitter but not bright, moe of an English styled IPA to my palate. I think I would have liked it more if it wasn’t so humid that day.

The best beer I had at this brewery. The slightly higher alcohol provided more body and a stronger malt presence than their other beers. American pale ale taste with piney hops. Not especially bitter or sweet. Pretty typical beer, but tasty and drinkable.
