Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 6C). Bottle 50 cl - Batch 11816:27. AROMA: slightly sweet cereal aromas. no hop aromas. slight esters reminiscent of pears. APPEARANCE: slightly light gold color and very translucent. thin white head with average retention. TASTE: low malty sweet flavour. very low bitterness. no hop flavours. PALATE: low and watery body. low carbonation. OVERALL: a watered down Kolsch without the characteristic subtle fruit flavours.

Golden color, medium carbonation. Grainy aroma. Taste of grains, but very balanced with the bitterness of european hops. Easy to drink.

Very grassy and citrusy aroma. Semi-sweet, grassy taste, with an aftertaste that balances between "noble" and papery/watery.

500ml. bottle. Shared with Gabe. Pours a medium, poorly retained, white head, over a clear, yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is light cereal malts, light pale fruits, pear, apple, hints of herbal hops......taste is slightly sweet initially, with hints of pear, apple, finishing dry, with a mild noble hop bitterness.......mouth feel, light of medium body, high carbonation. This meets this light and delicate style quite nicely. It is quenching and refreshing. BJCP 7/3/15/4/8

On tap at Wurst, september 9th 2014. Semiclear golden body with a big white head. Aroma of grass, bread, hops. Pretty sweet malty tate, spicy hops, light citric, hony notes. Mild bitterness. Refreshing dry finish. A nice kölsch!

Bottle - 500ml. Pale blond body with heavy carbonation and a fading white bubbly head. Fait malty/hoppy aroma with bready and herbal hints. Its bland, light malty/hoppy taste carries some herbal notes. Ends with a short bitter/herbal finish. Boring.

Out of a bottle while hanging out in Cologne. Pours clear golden with nearly no head. Aroma of hay, light pale malt sweetness, unpleasant Kolsch aroma. Flavor follows the aroma with a slightly dirty finish, though I found it a bit cleaner than the Paffgen I had earlier today. Light bodied of course, goes down easy enough, medium carbonation. Meh.

Transfer from BA review on 2-27-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served a yellow amber colored brew with a one finger white head. The head faded relatively quickly to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass Smell- The nose was a mix of some sweet fruit aromas of tangerine with a grainy and bready smell. Taste – The taste started out with a more crisp and bready taste up front with hints of fruit and caramel sweetness which get more potent more toward the middle of the taste. Along the same time the sweetness maximizes some light bitterness of a grassy and herbal nature comes to the tongue. The sweet fades more toward the end of the taste leaving a crisp and grainy flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer was on the thinner to average side with a carbonation level that was fairly average. Both were quite appropriate for the style and keeping with the crisp nature of the taste. Overall – A quite easy drinking Kolsh with a nice crisp finish.
