3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2006 Bottled. Generally unimpressive, yet very drinkable. Atmosphere (in Köln) might have something to do with me liking this (2.8).
Update / re-rate: Two Stangen on tap in Leipzig, at Johann S by the Thomaskirche. Golden pour with evident lacing. Crisp without any evidence of carbonation, I am attracted to the mouthfeel. Dry, plain, mildly bitter. A well-made beer.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. I may be being harsh to this beer. I think I’m really getting over all forms of lager. In any case, it’s refreshing and has a bit of a fruity hop coming through, but over all too fizzy and too bland for me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Daught at Fruh am Dom, Cologne, 200 ml, Filtered. Pale gold with huge head. The most bitter of the Kolsch’ tried during the weekend. My friends favourite, but I found it just a little underflavoured. The sharp bitterness goes right to the finish which keeps the palate fresh. Not bad.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pilsener golden with a frothy, white head. Malty, lightly sweet body with a limited bitterness. Quaffable all right but as with most Kölsches it’s hard to tell it from other mild pilseners. 160800
