Ingen stor doft. Smaken är söt malt och inte så mycket mer. Trevlig frisk till mat och funkar helt klart som en lätt förfriskning. Men nån stor smak har den inte

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAR 3, 2012 (Bottle) Pours clear yellow with a white head. The aroma holds light fruits and wet hay up front with undertones of subtle hops and dry grain. The flavour is light sweet, light bitter and light acidic with notes of grain, hay, bread, light fruits, citrus and a touch of herbal/grassy/earthy hops. The mouthfeel is clean, light tart and watery with a light to medium carbonation. Mild bitterness and dry grain character on the finish. Light bodied.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pale with nice head. Aroma hops. Taste hops. Light or no body. Nothing special like most lager. Aroma and taste diminish after a while and leaves the drinker something more watery. Only drink to get drunk.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
It poured a clear watery yellow-golden liquid with a small-medium sized white head. Mild smell of pale bread, yeast, cellar and earth. Similar taste, but with a mild sweet malty body and some fruity notes.

Probably didn’t travel too well this beer as it tasted a little too grainy and also cardboard in front of the fruit notes. Clear light golden body with very short head. Need to revisit this beer as I wasn’t too fussed with it.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2016 Drink in Fruh Colner Hofbrau in downtown Cologne. Fruh filtrowany.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Gold with a white head that fades quickly. Aroma of hay, apricots, grass. Taste is sweet with grain, some fruit, grassy and earthy hops. Dry finish with modest but lingering bitterness. Not bad for bottled Kölsch - it’s not exactly vibrant, but there’s some fruity/ earthy intrigue there to go with smooth sweetness and the crisp finish.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Live rating: Gravity from wooden cask at Fruh am Dom in Koln. Clear yellow gold with a short lived fluffy white head. Smooth carbonation but thin palate. Faint ale fruitiness but slight (cheap lager like) metalic edge. The hops are subdued but fresh. It’s been over 13 years since I last drank in this place and the aptnosphere is still magic. It’s a shame I can’t say the same about their beer. Kolsch is pleasant enough but the I would use the term ’catagory’ rather than ’style’ for this most increasingly uniform family of beers. The best thing about drinking in Koln is that you are only a short train ride away from the Alt biers of Dusseldorf - and that’s where I’m heading next!
