[500ml bottle from Beers of Europe] My first kolsch. Gold, visibly fizzy, large white head. Grassy lager hops dominate the otherwise rather bland flavour. Soft creamy mouthfeel. OK I guess.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
.5 liter bottle. Pours a light golden with a medium white head- some lace clear and moderate carbonation. Aroma is grassy herbal with mineral, crackery malts, light pils, mostly fresh overall with some hay as well. Flavor is light toast, light pils malt, grassy with light herbal hops, green and vegetal bitterness in the back of the throat, and a bit prickly- almost too clean and refined no soft pils malts or light wisp of ester- just cracker and light toast and light herbal hops. Easy drinking but a bit mineraly and grassy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Golden yellow body with healthy head. Nose of malts and quite sweet. Rather non-descript taste with some malts in there, gets more hoppier towards the finish. Quite smooth and easy drinkable. Fine enough.

Pours pale yellow gold with a foamy white head and bubbles. Smells like beer--hops, grains and sugar. Refreshing, slightly sweet, slightly bitter.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Gravity at the Tap by the Dom. Fruity, butter aroma and flavor, with berries and light hops. Good fruit, and a tangy finish. A good Koelsch, but there are many better ones in this city, and this place, though nice, is a crowded pain.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A - Light/clear golden color. A bit below average sized white head.
S - Some grain (corn smell) and malt sweetness. Some grassy/floral hops. Also smells of golden fruit.
T - Base is mostly grainy malt, that has a corn sweetness. Then along with that is a lot of golden fruit (apple pear mostly with some lemon). Slight grassy and floral hops, but those are mostly covered by the malt and fruit.
M - Light and refreshing. Good carbonation and fizzy.
D - Refreshing and easy to drink. Fruity flavors make it easy to drink.
Notes: Taste like an above average German pilsner with a good amount of golden fruit. Refreshing and easy to drink.
