From the recipe by Peter Josef Früh of the family brewery, this top-fermented specialty beer features the best ingredients and is brewed according to the German Purity Law. A favorite beer of Cologne, which became one of the city’s original.

Draught, Everyman, Liverpool. Bottle. Pallid gold with a fading white head. Lacking in aroma and flavour for that matter. Cleanish, watery palate. Short lived bitterness in the finish. Drab is the word.

Old Rating. Had this beer on tap at the brewhouse in Koln. Served cool in traditional stange glass. Had a bright white cap head and a light golden color. Light floral aroma and some sweet grain in the nose. Tasted sweet, some floral hop, and a cereal grain finish. Mouthfeel was light. Very enjoyable and highly drinkable but not breaking into the best of the best for Kolsch. I would drink this beer again.

Beautiful golden appearance with lazy bubble and nice head. Muesli and honey on the nose. On the taste, there is barley and a green herb bitter finish. Big structure, creamy and effervescent on the tongue and a sharp and refreshing finish. Great beer.

Bottle 50cl. A clear yellow beer with low head. Nose is a bit strange, not malty but vegetable like. Aroma is lightly sweet, medium malty, very dry at the finish with artichoke flavor, nothing unforgettable.

On tap at various places in Cologne. Not a particularly great Kölsch.

500ml bottle. Pours light gold with no head. Aroma is some lemon and light lager malt. Lemon and hay start. Crisp grassy hop finish.

0.5 l bottle. Pours yellow gold with a light head. Aroma pleasant but not pronounced. A nice mouthful that lingers. Not a powerful punch but probably a better summer beer than winter.

Pretty nice Kolsch. Like a usual German old style Kolsch, similar to most all others. Color is normal. Taste and palate is hay, burlap, and watery-malt. Overall its decent, but normal for all Cologne light beer

Sono decisamente controcorrente, io adoro questa kolsch, morbida, pulita, equilibrata, floreale... Regalo di un amico che tornava da Colonia, non posso denigrare, anzi...
