3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16.9 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a pale straw color with excellent clarity. About one finger of a creamy white head is formed with okay retention. Soft waves of lacing are left down the glass.
S: Lots of earthy, mildly sulfur-y German hops make themselves known initially. Some cereal grains and faint touches of fruit esters round out the decent aroma nicely.
T: Now this is more like it. A combination of cereal grains and noble hops open the brew nicely, with both notes bleeding into the crisp, dry finish. What makes this one rock-solid is its prevalent stone fruit esters that help (superbly) balance the adjunct sweetness and mild hops.
M: Like I said, it’s crisp and dry with very little lingering sweetness - but plenty of lingering fruit flavors. Carbonation is good without being overbearing, also. While it’s quite drinkable, I find the flavor profile too enjoyable to chug it down quick.
O: Truth be told, I really enjoy a good kolsch - and this is definitely a very good, even great, example of an (underappreciated) style. And it’s cheap, to boot!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Shared a 50cl bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow colour with almost no head. Aroma is hay, malty and grain. Soft carbonation and light body. Taste is quite watery and medium sweet with light bitter notes. Overall, a nice beer for a summer day but not remarkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home. Ambrata, limpida con.schiuma.bianca un po’ grossolana non molto persistente. Aroma fruttato di mela, cereali (frumento), un po’ di vino bianco aromatico (traminer). Gusto piuttosto secco, abbastanza acido, poco amaro. Poco corposa, carbonata. Abbastanza equilibrata (amaro sin troppo tenue) ed equilibrata.

Flaske 0,5l på NWAF 25 Jan 13. Lys gylden. Litt uklar i siste kvelling. Høyt skinnende hvitt luftig skum som varer. Pent! God maltaroma. Smaken også malt med fruktig undertone. Litt syrlig. Frisk.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: poured into a stange, typical bright clear gold with a frothy, fluffy bright white head; looks just like a good kolsch should. Aroma: lightly toasted white bread, some floral, grassy hops, and a hint of lemon zest. Taste: slightly sweet light malts (almost pilsnery), with subdued fruity, floral, and grassy hops. Finish: short, clean, slightly spicy, and nicely dry. Notes: Perfectly fine example of the style. Extremely drinkable palate and typical delicate flavors.
