Robbenklopper99 (47), aachen, Germany Mar 19, 2002 only an average beer. although one of the better kölsch beers.
gunnar (13), , Norway Oct 23, 2008 Bottled. Bright yellow, with a small white head, disappears fast.Tast is light malt with hint of hops. hughie (2415), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 11, 2008 On draught at Foreign Bar at Bedford BF ’08. Gold with a sweet unmentionable aroma. Bready, sour malt taste. Not much bitterness. Very cold, so I might have missed something. But I doubt it. To be honest I didn’t like this much. cellar (410), Dublin, Ireland Sep 7, 2008 Clear light golden with tiny head. Light malty aroma with fruity notes. Some caramel and flowers develops in mouth. Flavour is sweet with some dryness in finish. sloth (1540), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Sep 2, 2008 What appears to be a 12 oz. bottle, hand delivered by a friend of mine who was on vacation in Germany. Thanks Rick! Served in my only Kolsch glass, thanks Brian! Medium sized fizzy white head with fair retention and a small amount of stringy lace. Clear, straw colored, pretty effervescents. Nose is minerally, lightly grassy, lightly bready. Body is light, fairly well carbonated. Light maltiness, lightly grassy flavors, lightly sweet malts are a touch doughy. An almost dry, maltyesque finish, a touch salty. Not alot going on. MesandSim (4623), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 25, 2008 A Mes rate: draught at GBBF.
Bright yellow gold with an impressive white head and lace. Fresh as something that’s really fresh. Really soft and drinkable. Could be a sub 3% beer given how it drinks. Slips down an absolute treat. This was the first beer of the day on the Saturday after a whole week of drinking probably a little more than I should and anything else would have been a struggle. Stylish and elegant. Breakfast beer for the masses. Amazed I have not rated this before but I’m pleased that I waited until I could get a draught sample as it really is the only way to drink this stuff. Lovely.
