COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

33 cl bottle. Dark but clear reddish color. Short lasting beige head, not nice, big bubbles. Sweet malty , caramel like aroma, alcol hints only when it warms up. High and too pronounced carbonation which cover the aroma whcih after the malty sweetnes has a bitter end. Weak body.

Bottle bought in Orland and brought back. You know, not bad at all. A nice change of pace from the pale lager scene but nothing crazy like Nogne. nice bitterness in the finish.

Pours dark brown with a tanned head. Dark roasted sweet malts, no bitterness. With this one too, some note of brown sugar. Sweet. To me tastes close to the Borg one.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2012 Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Halden. Dark amber colour with a tan head. Rich sweet malt aroma together with light caramel and fruity notes. Moderate sweet toffee/caramel and light fruity flavour. Some roasted malt in the background. Did not find any metallic notes. Would have expected a litte thicker body.

Bottle. Dark amber, small to average and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and caramel sweetish aroma, light dark bread and light roasted malt. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel and light roasted malt. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, caramel and faint roasted malt, light alcohol. Caramel sweetish bock - really nothing special.

Dark brown body with a small, bubbly, light brown head that reduces to a fully lasting, thin layer, with some foam near the walls. Some lacing. Surprisingly, the aroma is quite vague. It’s sweet, but nowhere near the sweetness of the Borg Bokkøl that I had yesterday. Sweet malts, bread, slightly nutty, faint hops and some very evident and unpleasant metallic notes. Not very tempting. The taste is medium sweet and light bitter, with some bitterness in the aftertaste. The flavours are initially totally dominated by the horrible metallic notes that I was warned about when smelling the beer. My palate sort of grows used to the metallic stuff after a while, and deep down in the bottle I start to appreciate some pleasant flavours as well: mainly dried dark fruits and brown sugar, and some alcohol. The body is medium and the texture is watery to oily. And then the tin can feel of it all. Soft carbonation, and… EEEWWW! Sorry, a banana fly had decided to go for a swim in my glass and accompanied the last sip! Anyway, a very dull and disappointing beer (and that would have been the conclusion even without the fly).
[33 cl bottle, from Vinmonopolet Grønland Basar, Oslo]
